Chapter 71 - Visitors
Zelena.I’ve missed him. I'm not ready to share him with everyone else. I nuzzled my face into him some more, letting my hands roam up and down his back, over his biceps and down his chest. He feels so good. His chest vibrated and his heart rate picked up. He moved his hands down my back and to my backside, with a cheek in each hand he squeezed. I pressed my body into him, feeling the hardened length in his jeans. A lust filled growl burst out of him as I rubbed myself against him. Using his hands on my ass, he picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. He wasted no time in attacking my neck with his mouth, sucking, biting and kissing, all over my neck and collarbones. I ground my hips against him, trying to get as much friction as I could. Gunner moved his mouth up my neck and slammed his lips against mine. We fought each other for dominance, each of us wanting to taste every part of the other. Gunner slid his hand between

Chapter 72 - The Giant
Aurora. Once Gunner left the room with his Mate, the warm feeling of calmness left with him. I don’t know how he does it, and it’s starting to bug me. One moment I'd be filled with rage and ready to kill, the next, he says some words and it’s as if I melt like butter. Deep down, buried under a mountain of self-hate, distrust and vengefulness, I think I may trust him. There is still something there. Even though I now see that he could never want me like he does the witch, there is still a connection between us. I just need to find out what it is. Preferably before I kill off the rest of his pack, so I know whether or not he needs to die along with them. I don’t want to be here, especially without Gunner, not with these animals. I want the calmness back. The calmness that I only feel from him. The dark-haired woman from my ghost dream thingy, Lunaya, Gunner called her, she was getting on my nerves. She thinks I can’t hear her, but I can. Whispering and crying to the small woman at he

Chapter 73 - Something to say
Aurora. Tobias then turned and stormed off. The door slammed behind him and the room fell silent, slowly filling with tension. “Are you okay, dear?” Gunner’s mother cooed softly as she stood in front of my face. She reached forward to touch my face but quickly stopped herself. She's observant, I'll give her that. She must have remembered that I told Lunaya not to touch me, clever lady. I narrowed my eyes and nodded my head. She smiled and stepped back a bit further away from me again. “Come, let’s get you some food” she smiled and held her hand out to the door. Lupus went first, pushing open the door and holding it while the rest of us walked through. It was the first time I had seen the inside of their home. It was grand, much like the Alpha’s house at Red River, Saxton’s pack in Italy. But this felt much more homely, and a hell of a lot less showy. That was one of the things I hated about Alpha Antonio, he was all about status and showing of his riches. He cared more about the

Chapter 74 - The Truth is Out
Aurora. Like a thundering giant, Lupus placed himself between me and the two women, and growled down at me threateningly. Somehow, he managed to make himself look three times larger than he did before. I have only seen this man when he was smiling or joking. This side of him however, is impressive. The extended fangs, the angry eyes, the tense muscles, the aura of power he was exuding. There is no argument, he is dangerous. I've still taken down bigger animals though. “You are a guest in my home, you will show respect to my Mate while you are under this roof” he bellowed, the sound echoed around the kitchen, bouncing off the walls. Roe placed her hand on his chest, and it was like he deflated. All the anger and tension left the room and he looked down at her gently. “If you’ll all excuse me, I'm going to check on the t... I'm going upstairs” Roe said before kissing Lupus on the cheek and leaving the room. Lupus glared back at me before he sat back down on his stool. “Well, out w

Chapter 75 - A Lie
Aurora. “You see my darling, I’m your birth mother”. What the fuck did she just say? My mother, seriously? This lady has lost her damn mind. I was lost for words, completely. Which is odd for me, I always have some sort of smart remark to make. But not this time. I was just stunned into silence by her stupidity. She actually thinks that I'm her child, and that I'm even a real werewolf. I must have played my part better than I thought. She stood in front of me, watching for my reaction, waiting for me to say something. But I had nothing to say. She isn’t my mother, I have no mother. We stood silently for what felt like an hour, though it was only a few seconds. Both Lunaya and Lupus, plus the small woman, all of them were watching me closely, waiting for me to speak. But I didn’t. No. Words had been lost to me, but something was working its way out of me. That was the moment I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I tossed my head back and roared with laughter. It spilled out of my mouth eff

Chapter 76 - I Remember
Aurora. “Hello daughter of mine” that same voice chimed, only it wasn’t from the woman holding the child, it came from beside me. I snapped my eyes over my shoulder and jumped back. The woman was now standing next to me, but she was still sitting on the mattress as well. I flipped my head from the woman on the mattress, to the woman standing in front of me, and back and forth again. She chuckled, the sound sounding more like gentle bells than a laugh.  “I am her, and she is me. Just as she is you, and you are her” she said rhythmically while waving to the young girl. So, she confirmed it then. The girl is me, well a younger me, but me all the same.

Chapter 77 - The Merchant of Death
Aurora. “I’m going to kill you”.  The whispered words slipped through my clenched teeth before I could stop them. But it felt better than good to say it out loud, so why not roll with it. I lifted my head slowly and glared at Selene with all the coldness in my heart.  “Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but I swear to you, one day I will kill you” I proclaimed as I stared her down. She looked back at me with no emotion on her perfect face. The room we were in moments ago was gone. We were no longer in the

Chapter 78 - Two
Zelena. I stared at Elaine’s face, trying to get my brain to digest the words. A message. What message, and from who? My eyes flicked to the Indian beauty sitting beside her, Venus, who stared back with a blank expression. I was quick to realise that I wasn’t going to get anything out of her. I moved my gaze over to my mother. She looked worried, maybe even a little shaken. There's definitely something going on here. I could just make out a red line on her forehead, just below her hair line. From a distance it looks like a partially healed wound. I dropped Gunner’s hand and marched over to her, grabbing her face and pulling her head down so I could see it more clearly. I could still smell the blood on her, and the freshness of the mark tells me this was recent, like very recent. Lunaya carefully patted my wrist and pulled it from her cheek. “I’m fine hon” she said earnestly, “What happened?” I demanded. When she didn’t answer immediately, I looked over her shoulder to Alyse, who q

Chapter 79 - Which one?
Zelena. “Only one can survive” I whispered softly. They heard me, I know they did, they’re supernatural creatures for crying out loud. But only silence followed. I may be late to this new discovery, but clearly each of them have already gone through the paces. They know what comes next. Elaine cleared her throat, bringing our thoughts and attention back to the room. “If I may, Goddess, the message” she said to me. “Right, sorry” I answered shakily with a nod of my head. “The hour is now. The transfer must be complete before the rise of the next full moon” she said sternly. I stared back at her blankly. I don’t know what that means. She waited for me to speak, but I don’t know what I'm meant to say, that makes no sense to me. I looked down at my feet and pondered the meaning. The transfer? Transfer of what exactly. “That’s it?” Gunner asked from over my shoulder. “That is the message” she confirmed with a swift nod. “What transfer?” Roe asked, “What does that mean?” Gu

Chapter 80 - Breached
Zelena. Lunaya looked back down at me with a warm gentle smile. She is a good woman, I can see that now. I regret being so hard on her back when she told me the truth about who she really was. I was awful to her then, thought it does feel like a whole other lifetime ago now. I'm actually very lucky to have her. She's so strong and brave, and unbelievably resilient. But there is so much more to her, so much that she hides from everyone else around. She has a softness to her, there’s a motherly glow in her eyes when she looks at me. Roe has the same kind of spark in her gaze too. I know I can trust her, with anything and everything, including my deepest fears and insecurities. All the daunting feelings filling my chest, the fears I have for the fast-approaching end to this prophecy. I know that can share them all with her, without the possibility of her judging me, or seeing me as weak. I have no doubt she is carrying many of the same fears. I sighed heavily and opened my mouth to spea
