Chapter 20: The Funeral
"Jenna, are you O.K.?"  I wake up to see Brad leaning over me, worried.  "You fainted.  Come inside and I will get you a drink of water."  He takes my hand and yells for one of the stable hands to take Nelly back to her stall. Sitting down on the couch, I wait for him to bring me a glass of water.  With the world spinning out of control, I remember why I fainted.  When he told me my dad was dead, I felt this rush of nausea and then everything went black. "Here you go."  He hands me the glass of water before continuing.  "I am just sorry I didn't catch you.  The doctor said you can't have any more drama, but this was unavoidable.  Are you still dizzy?"  He cocks his head sideways and watches me for signs. I shake my head, and answer him, "No.  I am just light headed now.  Did they tell you when the funeral is?"  Not feeling much of anything from the shock, I sit there in a daze. He t

Chapter 21: It Only Gets Better
"What do you think you are doing?"  I hear Brad yell extremely loud from the other room.  I have no idea who he is talking to, but whomever it is, he is mad as hell at them.   I can't seem to get the feeling of my dad's cold lifeless cheek off of my mind.  Now that I think of it, I have never touched a dead person before, so I have nothing to compare it too.  Was that even normal?  With my headache finally gone, I lay still on my bed with the window open so I can enjoy the brisk day's air.  My door bursts open with a loud crack and Dean marches in, with Brad in tow.  Brad grabs ahold of his arm when he stops at my bed and he swings him around to face him.  "Let go of me, I need to see Jenna." Startled, I sit up on the bed and scooch back so I don't get hit when the fists start punching.  Wide eyed and looking irritated, Brad yells right in Dean's face, "You don't need to do anything except for your job!&n

Chapter 22: The Feeling That You Belong There
The minute Dean stops the car, he jumps out and opens my side to pick me up and carry me in.  "Shall we?"  He asks with a sly grin on that sexy face of his.  Kicking the front door open, I feel the warmth of his breath on my face and look up to see the determined look on his face.  He shuts it behind him and once we get to his bedroom, he puts me down on the bed gently.  Leaning over me, he climbs on the bed and I feel his hands slide down my sides painfully slow while kissing my neck softly. The ache in between my legs is unbelievable and it makes me want to grind up on him and relieve the pressure building up there.  He stops kissing me and his eyes train on what he is doing as he unzips my pants and starts to slide them down.  Feeling like my insides are lava, I plead with him.  "Please hurry."  I say painfully. Taking his time, he kisses each inch as he uncovers my skin and slides them down more.  Not

Chapter 23: It Is Absolutely Amazing.
"Stop, I need to talk to you."  I yell at Brad as I watch him slam the door to his bedroom.  I figured out a way to get away from Brad if he agrees to it, that is.  Pounding on his door, I persist till he finally opens it and screams at me, "What?" and pushes me back.  Cocking his head, he asks again, "What do you want?" I hesitate, but then I answer him, "I have a proposition for you.  I will give you the company, if you divorce me and leave me be for the rest of my life.  You can't touch my inheritance except for the company though.  The prenuptial agreement will be null and void from here on out, if you agree to it." He shakes his head and sighs, "Why would I do that, if I stay married to you I can have it all anyways.  Now go have your fling and then you will come running back here, because you have always needed me." The smile on his face makes me want to smack it off of him.  Trying not to, I turn and walk to

Chapter 24: No Sleep
"What should I do?  I have never forgot to take my pills before and right now Aaron and I are fighting.  He suspects I am cheating on him."  Looking terrible, she stares at the floor and kicks the rug while sitting on the bed. "Nicole, you have to tell him.  Especially if you find out you really are.  Right now I am going to go to town and pick you up a pregnancy test, then we will figure this all out once and for all."  I stand up and grab my keys off the end table.   She follows me out the bedroom door and down to the living room where I pick up my jacket and purse.  After shutting the front door behind us, we walk to the car quickly because it is getting colder and colder.  I usually don't drive in the dark, but this is an exception.  My best friend needs an answer right now, not later. On the way in to town I watch as the snow falls slowly across the road and I hope that it doesn't get too bad before

Chapter 25: What is his problem?
"What is his problem?"  I scream at the top of my lungs.  Pulling my hair out, I look at Nicole and wonder where I went wrong in the first place.  Was it marrying him or not being good enough for him? At this point, I am so glad I wasn't good enough for him, because I might have actually fell for his b.s. and gave him a kid or something even worse, my heart.  He would have absolutely devastated me when he told me he only married me for my money and that I wasn't good enough for his bedroom games.  Not to mention, he needs to grow up. Nicole seeing me so upset, hugs me before taking a seat on the bed.  She motions for me to sit next to her and we both stay there just feeling miserable in our situations.  After a few minutes, I get up and turn the c.d. player on.  Cranking it up, I encourage her to dance with me. Through all the years, I have always found music to be the one thing that made everything a little less worse

Chapter 26: Taking a Breather
Dean opens the door for the police and tells them calmly, "The shooter is over here, I tied him up with the curtain tie back."  Pointing to the man in the corner, I watch as Dean and the officer walk over to him. The man stares at the police officer, "Why don't you just get this over with and take me away?  My lawyer will have me out in no time."  He turns to Dean and says, "You should have killed me while you had the chance."  He winks at him and Dean launches at him. The officer grabs ahold of him and forces him to back off, saying forcefully,  "You need to leave before I have to put you in jail too and then who will protect these two."  He points at Nicole and myself. Having a good point, I can see that it gets through to Dean and he walks over to stand by my side.  Putting his arms around me, he kisses me in full view of everyone and while staring deep into my eyes, he says lovingly, "I should have said this sooner, but

Chapter 27: Fixing The Situation
After a very long night of discussing the options, I am ready for bed.  I look over at Dean and with a cup of coffee in my hand, stand up.  Yawning, I stretch and glance at both of Sam and Dean.  "Ready to go to bed?  If I don't go now, I am going to fall over from exhaustion."   Dean stands up and smiles, "I am.  I'm just glad that we got this all sorted out.  Now that we know what has to be done, it makes it so much easier." Last night, after the cops called, my lawyer did and told me that the shooter admitted he was hired by a lone shark.  Apparently, Brad owes a lot of money on gambling debts and when my dad died, he told them that he was going to inherit the company and liquidate it to pay them off.  Unfortunately, that didn't pan out and that's why Brad was so willing to change his mind about divorcing me. As long as he would get to sell the company, he didn't care anymore and that meant he would save hi

Chapter 28: A New Day
After the phone call with the attorney, Dean turns to me and asks, "What did he say?" Smiling, I answer, "It's all taken care of.  The lone shark is in custody and they are making sure the shooter is put away for good.  Now as soon as I am divorced from Brad, I won't ever have to deal with him again."  I watch him stand up and put his hands around my waist, hoisting me up.  He kisses me and then puts me down, hugging me. He cocks his head, sounding really curious he asks, "What about Brad?  Where is he now?" "He is back at the house and I forgot to tell you that I have set up for Marissa to be sent back to her country.  Her family has told me that they want to bury her there.  I just feel so bad that it had to happen at all.  Those bullets were meant for me not her."  I say sadly and stare at the floor for a few minutes. "I think I should have a one on one with Brad, to make sure that he really never does a

Chapter 29: Brad Saved The Day
"Are you alright in there?"  I hear like a dream as I open my eyes.  It sounds like Brad, but why would he be here unless he has something to do with this again.  Staring at Dean with his jeans on, I find myself wondering what just happened?  I must have blacked out again and when I came to, Dean had already called the cops. Hearing Brad's voice again, "I took care of the hitman."  I watch as he opens the door cautiously before entering.  Dean poised to pounce, waits to see what Brad is going to do because he has a gun in his hand too. I look at Brad accusingly and ask, "Did you just shoot him?"  He nods and I see Sam walk in behind him.   Feeling so thankful that it wasn't her blood on the floor, I rush over and give her a big hug.  She stares at me with a shocked look on her face, but then starts to smile.  "I was so scared, I thought for sure I was dead and then Brad ran in and shot him dead.&n
