Chapter 11 - Hannah
Driving around waiting for the pull, I feel around in my head for Lily but she still hasn’t returned with any news.  It’s after noon so Gabe has been missing for almost twelve hours.  Out of nowhere Lily pops into my head telling me to turn right; now.  I slam on my brakes and almost miss the turn.  The car behind me honking its horn in protest to my sudden diversion.  “Lily, what did you find?” I ask her.  “Nada from the guy that snatched him, but lucky for us Gabe knows where he is.”  She tells me, explaining that she was able to contact a very pissed off inner wolf. “Ok, where is he?”  I ask.  “There is an old barn about a mile up on the left.  He’s in there” she tells me “But Hannah, I think you should call the deputy, these people are dangerous” she warns me.  “How many are there?”  I ask her. “Two, but Hannah,

Chapter 12 - Hannah
I hear a strangled howl from below the floor under Jeff.  Looking at me they both make a move to grab me.  Dodging Jeff and snatching the other guy’s wrist I twist him around and shove his face into the grill of the tractor.  His head making a sickening thud and he falls to the ground down for the count.  That was too easy.  I turn to face Jeff and he is on me before I can dodge him again.  He tackles me to the floor and lands on top of me.  He stinks, like halitosis and mildew.  He maneuvers his legs so he is straddling me and grabs my neck with both hands choking me.  I use my arms, thrusting them up between his breaking his choke hold on me and knocking him off balance.  I am able to jump up before he has time to recover and kick him in the face as hard as I can.  Twice. With them both out cold I reach down and remove the laces from my boots, and hog tie them both.  Fucking animals, serves them right.&

Chapter 13 - Gabriel
The last thing I remember is dropping the keys to Sherry’s in the mail slot.  Beating myself up for not going after Hannah, I was considering going over to her room to explain.  It wasn’t anything against her, I just wasn’t expecting it.  It was like she was reading my mind and it threw me off.  I woke up to the sound of Ray, the pack doc telling someone that I’m damn lucky to be alive.  The amount of wolfsbane in my system was enough to kill our whole pack.  “Those idiot meth heads were trying to get a ransom for him to feed their habit, and almost killed him.” I hear Deputy Scott say.  “She saved his life?” Uncle Bob asks. “Hannah” My voice sounds ragged and harsh like I haven’t spoken in weeks.  I don’t know how long I have been out, or if she even stuck around.  I open my eyes and see that I am home in my own bed.  I have a splitting headache, an

Chapter 14 - Hannah
“I think I am going to need help in the shower.  Wouldn’t want me to fall now, would you?” he says with a devilish grin and winks at me.  “Do it!” Lily says, and I say fuck it and take off my giant t-shirt.  “Oooooooh you hussy!” Lily sings at me.  “Go away Lily” I tell her, and she does.I look at Gabe, clearly surprised, one hand on his hip and the other nervously stroking his thick beard.  Standing there in nothing but my panties I put my hands on my hips and ask, “What? I cant get my favorite night shirt all wet!”  pressing his lips together he hums “mmmh mmh mmh” and picks me up by the waist lifting me over the edge of the tub standing me up in the shower.  I yelp at the sudden motion, and Gabe kneels in front of me with his hands on my hips he traces the seam of my panties and pulls them down.  I lift my legs one at a time letting him remove

Chapter 15 - Gabriel
I walk out of the bathroom with my towel around my waste and I see Hannah curled up in the middle of my bed asleep with a towel on her head.  She is wearing one of my shirts and I am glad to see her make herself at home.  It’s strange to me that none of this feels new.  It’s as if she has been here the whole time.  I get dressed and head over to the pack house.  My uncle is going to want to talk to me, I’m surprised he hasn’t barged in demanding answers already. I walk in and my little cousin Sarah runs up and jumps into my arms.  “Gabe!  I was worried.  Dad said that you were hurt, but I couldn’t go see you because you looked gross.”, she rattles off.  “Well, I don’t know what I looked like but I certainly felt gross.”, I tell her. “Where is your dad?” I ask.  She points to his office, and I put her down.  “Imma go watch TV.” She sa

Chapter 16 - Hannah
I can’t believe I fell asleep after having already slept for almost a whole day.  True, I wasn’t getting any sleep the whole time Gabe was unconscious, but you would think 18 hours would be enough.  Im awakened by someone kissing my head.  As I am stretching out I open my eyes to the most beautiful man I have ever seen.  “hey Gabe.” I yawn.  “Hey” he says sitting down on the bed beside me.  With his hand resting on my hip he is looking down at me stretched out on his bed like I am the most interesting thing to have graced his presence.  He really is a beautiful man.  I'm looking up at his green eyes and my eyes travel down to his pouty lips.  Yep, I'm a gonner.  I prop my head up on my elbow and he puts his hand on my waist.  “How long have I been asleep?” I ask.  “bout 45 minutes”, he replies.  Well that’s not so bad.  When I sit up he

I had mixed feelings when I saw what remained of the burn on Hannah’s palm.  Frustration that Sarah was hurt in the first place.  Pride that my mate was able to help her.  Heartbreak knowing that her ability to heal means that she has to endure the affliction of the person she helps.  Does this mean that she felt what I felt while I was recovering?  “No,” she says.  “What I did for you was different.” She continues.  “How do you know that is what I was thinking?” I ask her.  “I’m pretty good at reading people.”  She confides. “So, can you explain all of this to me?” I ask.  “I am aware that you aren’t like any other human, and you know what I am.  Being here for two weeks I’m sure that you have witnessed some strange things.” I can tell that she is really thinking about what she is going to say.  This is uncomfortabl

Chapter 18 - Hannah
Presenting the speech, that I just gave Gabe, is usually uncomfortable for me.  In the past, sharing my story came after someone witnessed me do something that defies the laws of nature and science.  I often feel like I need to explain myself, like I have done something wrong.  I didn’t get that feeling with him.  He listened to me intently and held me close as I continued to power through my story. When I finish talking, I am sitting cross legged leaning into his chest, and he has both arms wrapped around me.  He shifts his body slightly turning his head to the side so that he can get a better look at me.  He brushes my hair behind my ear and putting his hand behind my head he pulls me in and kisses me.  “I’m glad she did.”  He says. “Me too” I smile at him. I bring my hands up to his face and scratch at his beard gently, it’s softer than I thought it would be.  My hands

Chapter 19 - Gabriel
Christine’s sudden appearance, though it created some frustration for me and pissed Theo off, was good for Hannah.  When she was telling me about her experiences and always having to move on after her abilities are discovered, I was concerned that she would feel like she has to do the same this time.  Now that I have her, there is no way that I am going to let her go.  I will do everything in my power to make sure that she is safe. Christine coming to my house and talking to her seemed to put her at ease, and I hope that if it comes to it, Christine will be a huge advocate to convince her to stay.  I know she is afraid of the outcome of learning the origin of her abilities.  I can’t blame her, I couldn’t imagine how traumatizing it would have been if I found out I was a werewolf just out of the blue with out warning.  I just can’t help but think that it is more than just a fluke that she is who she is.

Chapter 20 - Hannah
I can’t believe that Gabe, the kind of guy you picture in your head when you think of your typical tough guy, the one that doesn’t invest as much in romance as he does work on his truck and drinking beer, just said that to me.  The benefit of being me is that I know it was the truth.  I felt it in every word.  Maybe he is right, maybe I should look more into finding out what makes me the way I am. “Hannah, I know that you are afraid if you go digging you might not like what you find, but Gabe is right.”  Lily tells me.  “He isn’t going to let you leave, and he really is prepared to do whatever it takes to protect you.”  I’m still latched on to Gabe with my head buried in his shoulder as he walks us back into his bedroom.  “Lily, I really tried to fight it” I tell her.  “I know you did, but there was no reason to.  This is where you are supposed to be.”&nb
