71 // Fresh Start
"I wasn't expecting you to come back so soon after the way you left this morning," Blair said as she closed the door behind her.  MJ headed for Blair's office, but not before muttering, "Yeah, me neither."  Blair sighed and went to the kitchen to prepare a light meal. "Would you like anything to eat or drink?" She yelled, but continued anyway when MJ declined her offer. "That girl hates food. What woman in this century doesn't like food?" She muttered to herself.  She finished up and placed the platters and juice on the tray before taking them to MJ. "Lunch is served." She sat down, not leaving any space for argument.  MJ knew she was not going to start with the session until she has eaten something. To Blair's satisfaction, MJ finished her food and had a bit from Blair's plate.  After they were done eating, their session started. Within the

72 // Up and About Too
The first thing MJ did when she arrived at work the next day was to check with Brianna if she had anything on Cameron, but she was not yet in and her team were not aware of the situation.  It had completely slipped her mind that Brianna was married and had children, and that she had to put up the identity of a real estate agent to her family while at the same time, catering for both her family and the company. They obviously still had a long way to go.  After an hour, the building started to pile up as all the employees returned from the sister branch. It was a sight to behold as MJ felt the air rush into her lungs, it was as if her building had come to life and was breathing again. Chatter and murmurs rose, and for the first time ever, she did not mind the noise.  MJ had resorted to coming to work much earlier than everyone again, and the empty desks where both Anita and Samantha used to res

Everyone was under the impression that he betrayed her, little did they know that they both played a hand in everything that happened.  She could not believe things spiraled out of control so fast, and it was all because of that woman. 75 // Family Meeting
The tension in the room was unbearable. The two families that were once united, sat on opposite ends of the table, looks and harsh words thrown from both sides.  Kyle could not believe that just a few weeks ago, they were sharing a table and having dinner at his parents' house while going down memory lane and laughing.  Slurs and insults were being thrown around, and the longer they stayed, the worse things got.   Kyle looked at his watch for the nth time. It was 1p.m., and Jorge was still not here. He threw Sne a worried look, she did not want to be here as much as he did.  "Maybe I should call Jorge again to check how far he is," she said abruptly and stood up.  "Yeah, do that," Kyle agreed.  S’negugu picked her phone and left the boardroom, but not before sharing an anxious glance with Kyle.

76 // New Developments
"This had better be good," Javier Mendoza said sternly as he strode into McEnroe Construction Company with Aaron Jr by his side as they headed for the elevator.  "I wouldn't have called you if it wasn't important," Aaron said begrudgingly.  Javier had still not recovered from his ambush, and on top of that, he still had to figure out how to bury twenty-five bodies unnoticed. This was exactly why he never recruited men with families or responsibilities, because if shit got real, nobody would notice.  This was what kept him out of prison for the longest time, but he was not so sure anymore, especially after the beautiful stranger. His blood boiled every time he thought of her, especially since his thoughts always drifted off to dangerous places. He could not stop thinking about her, and that alone bothered him.  He had been trying to locate her for days, but had no suc

77 // Bad News
MJ was restless. She had been feeling anxious all day, and she was barely coping without her medication.  Even after promising herself that she would never go back to Blair for some time, it was not a surprise when she barged into her house the next day.  "May Jeanette, everything okay? What are you doing here?" Blair asked as MJ walked past her into her lounge.  She dropped her back on the couch and turned to face a shocked Blair. "This is not working!" She said in frustration.  Blair quickly closed the door and closed her gown before striding farther into the room. "What is not working, what are you talking about?"  MJ's hands were shaking uncontrollably and she was feeling hot. "I need something to help me," she said desperately.  Blair shook her head knowingly. "No."  She threw her hand

78 // Crime Scene Too
Cape Town was no place short of crime, especially gang shootings. It was such a commodity to hear that someone was shot, to the point where it became a norm. Today it was a little girl playing in her yard, and tomorrow, a young boy walking back from school.  Detective Zoe Botha was no longer surprised, she attended to all these calls.  However, it was not everyday she got a call where someone she knew had been shot, let alone in their own home.  The worst part was finding her young sister at the crime scene, along with the victim's former best friend.  How was it possible that someone shot Jorge Billings in his beach house? The worst thing was that he was beaten up before he was shot.  Zoe was sure that he was not going to make it.  The forensic team was still analysing the crime scene, while the IT specialist was t

79 // Faults
Returning to South Africa was the last thing on her radar after so many years, and probably the worst mistake in her entire life. She had no idea what to expect, except for the smug look on her brother's girlfriend's face when she realised that she had her exactly where she wanted her.  MJ Billings was not the one to be easily swayed about, but she had her limits and weaknesses, she had secrets that could never get out, and that was where some people got her.  She wished they would all ask for money like any opportunistic person out there, but this one was not at all interested in that; she wanted to make MJ's life miserable.  The traffic from the airport was quite hectic, but MJ was glad for the delay as she was not ready to face her enemy yet.  Her phone blared up, knocking her out of her silent moment. She sighed softly when she read the name on the screen. "You h

80 // Cuddles
David Botha never thought he would find himself in this position ever again, at least not with the one he wanted to be with.  Normally, they would both be sleeping at either end of their bed, far away from each other with their backs facing the other person.  They never spoke, and every time they tried, it always ended in an argument.  They both had commitments outside their marriage, or better yet, they were more commited to their jobs than they were to their marriage; and the only time they ever confronted the issue was out of jealousy or rage, and it led them nowhere.  At some point David even suspected that Lola was cheating on him, often she refused to sleep with him and would not even let him touch her, and the few times they slept together, it was just sex, there was no love.  He was convinced that she was sleeping with someone else,
