Chapter 41
JarekDiscarding my shirt, I pick up the ax and start chopping logs into small pieces. My arms muscles strain with each strike while my wolf restlessness turns into agitation. The clubhouse has slowly started to fill with unmated wolves who have difficulty controlling themselves during the full moon. We have isolation cells, and these wolves prefer being locked away than giving into their animalistic urges. Usually, I don't get this restless with their presence, but this time it is different. I have found Gianna, and all these wolves are just a challenge to my wolf because we haven't marked Gianna. Anyone can try to approach her as she doesn't have our mark, and no one would know that she is mine. Even though I am giving her space and a choice, I pray that she have mercy on me and accept this bond and me once again. The more I think about someone thinking about her in a way that should be prohibited, the more my anger rises. The thought of someone seeing her in a way that only bel

Chapter 42
Gianna "It is such a relief to know that you trust us." Stella smiles sweetly, "Because me and Jarek, we are really close." Lifting her hands slightly she interlocks her fingers while raising her eyebrows. "You know, the kind of relationship we share is very special. I don't know if Jarek has told you about us, but all I can tell you is that we have been there for each other almost all our lives. So it is okay if you have doubts about us, because if I were you even, I would have some doubts." She laughs nonchalantly. "That's why you aren't me because I am not someone who is going to waste their time thinking about something which doesn't exist in the first place." I mirror her smile, "Jarek has already told me about the brief fling you had. And even told me how he realized you are his good friend, and his feelings are just platonic." "You might be his first, but I am the one who is going to be his forever." Looking directly into her eyes, I hold Jarek's hand, staking my claim. "So

Jarek "Stop it, Jarek." She lets out a giggle while trying to push my head away. Growling lowly, I hold her firmly and continue to lick the wound on her neck. My heart aches at the sight of her bruise neck, and I can't bear the thought that she is hurt because of me. Mates can heal each other. Mates share and bear each other's pain, that is beauty of a mate bond. Giving up, she rests her head against my chest and sighs. Feeling satisfied with her resignation, I continue to lick her skin. Slowly, the bruising starts to lighten while her wound begins to heal. Within a few minutes, the bruising disappeared, leaving her soft skin unmarred. "Perfect like always." Running my finger across her skin where the remnant of my failure was, I smile. She sits up and touches her neck and a surprised expression flashes on her face. "Another perk of being your mate, huh?" She laughs while shaking her head, "What else do you have under your sleeves, mate?" She arches an eyebrow playfully. "A

Gianna "You look happy," Lily comments while smirking at me as she places a glass of apple juice in front of me. "And a little puppy told me that even our Alpha seems to be in a happy mood." "Jarek and I, we talked." Shrugging, I swirled the straw in the glass."Just talked?" She raises an eyebrow. "Yeah, we talked and sorted things out." Picking up the glass, I take a small sip while the feel of his lips is still fresh in my mind. "Liar!" She shakes her head and grins, "It is written all over your face that these lips were busy in a making-out session with our Alpha." "Am I right, or am I right?" She wiggles her eyebrows. "Shut up!" I playfully glared at her while trying to keep the smile off my face. "Tell me, did you two reach other bases or not?" Leaning forward, she whispers, causing my eyes to widen at her question. This woman has no shame! "I don't kiss and tell. So, shoo." I push her away, narrowing my eyes at her with a playful look. "So, you agree that you kissed Al

Jarek Elijah's doubt was right; along with helping my people, I opened the doors to my enemies. It wasn't difficult to find the traitors among us because we knew what we were looking for. Signs of defiance were the clear giveaway who is not one of us. I have used my Alpha command on my wolves, and people who are against me were the only ones on whom my command never worked. But until this moment, I wasn't aware of the presence of hunters in my clubhouse. My land is not only infiltrated by traitors, but even hunters have managed to enter my territory with the help of these traitors. My vision momentarily blacks out as a sharp pain sears in my heart. Gianna. Instantly, I turn to her as the smell of her blood reaches my nose. Hot lava runs through my veins as I give all my control to my wolf and run toward her when I see a wolf attacking her. Jumping on the wolf, I push him off her and extending my claws, I slash him across his belly. Blind with rage, I keep attacking this bastar

Chapter 46
Jarek I close the door of my office and walk around my table. Eric takes one of the seats in front of my table, leans forward, and keeps his elbows on his knees. Walking behind my chair, I cross my arms over the chair's backrest and look at Eric, expecting him to speak. But silence lingers in the room, which is heavy with tension. "I am asking you, not as your Alpha, but as a guy who always looked up to you." Taking a deep breath, I start to speak, "Why do you think I am unworthy of your daughter? The distrust in your eyes pains me because I have been nothing but honest with you." "Eric, you were the first one I told that she is my mate because I believed you would understand what she means to me. Then why now are you questioning my bond with her?" I run my hand through my hair while I frown. "When you hold that little baby in your arms, it is not just love which fills your heart; there is immense fear also." He looks at his hands while different emotions cover his face, "That

Chapter 47
Gianna I roll my eyes behind my closed eyelids while slowly gathering my senses. I haven't suffered from amnesia, so I fully remember what has happened. My leg is screwed, that's for sure. All I wish is that whatever damage is, it shouldn't be irreversible. I try to move the toes of my right leg, but all I feel is numbness. My fingers curl, and I feel the soft fur as purring vibrates through my fingers. My Charlie. Suddenly, I feel relaxed because I am home. The sound of shutting of door catches my attention, and I force myself to open my eyes. "I must have died and gone to heaven because the sight before me is nothing but heavenly." A smirk curls my lips as I shamelessly eye Jarek as he runs a small towel through his wet hair. A towel is wrapped around his waist as the droplets of water from his shower travel down from his muscular chest toward his perfectly sculpted abdomen. "If I had known this sight would greet me when I woke up, I would have knocked myself out

Chapter 48
Jarek Gianna gives me a helpless look while patting Diana's back as she clings to Gianna and cry. Smirking at her, I simply shrug while showing no signs of saving her from my aunt's hug. She narrows her eyes at me, but secretly loving the attention she is getting from everyone as there is a hint of smile on her lips. Since everyone found out she is up, everyone is fussing over her. At took a while for Karen to stop crying and now Diana is having difficult time controlling her emotions. Sometimes I wonder who is going to win the crying competition if these both participate because they both cry a lot... Like really a lot. "Taylor, why are you standing at the corner? You can come and sit here, I don't bite." Gianna pats the space beside her and laughs. Taylor doesn't smile or moves from his place. His grave expression never leaves his face as he continues to stare at the floor. He is feeling guilty and responsible for what has happened with Gianna. He thinks he has failed me and h

Chapter 49
Gianna The presence of someone inside the room makes me alert. I don't hear any sound but still I can feel someone's eyes on me which send chills down my spine. A weird sensation washes over me, something which is entirely opposite to how I feel when Jarek is around. The darkness in the room obscure most of the room, but I stay still and pretend to be asleep not to make the intruder aware that I am up. I clearly remember Jarek left the room nearly two hours ago when the clubhouse begin to echo with howls and cries because the wolves were becoming restless. He told me since the full moon is tomorrow tonight he needs to be with the new shifted wolves as they would need his help to control their wolves. I sense someone walking around the room and my breath catches in my throat when I feel someone just standing near my head. Discreetly, slipping my hand under my pillow my fingers curl around the cold metal suddenly giving me the confidence which I need. The handgun which dad gave t

Jarek Leaving Gianna was not something I wanted to do, but I had to be there with these wolves to help them transition into this new phase as their family have trusted me with this responsbility. As soon as the sounds of howling become louder I knew the new wolves have started feeling the effects of the tomorrow's full moon.
