The children were given their bowls of oats and fruit.They knew to eat their fruit first.Vera was given a plate of scrambled eggs, toast, tomato and sausages.Vera didn’t feel that hungry.Just the sight of food, made her stomach turn.But for now, she forced it down with a sip of water.And then Vera, saw the maid place a chocolate milkshake in front of her.She almost smiled.But she didn’t want Luke to see her reaction and then ask her why she was smiling.She picked up her drink and sipped it.She had to hold back the moan she nearly let slip out of her mouth.And all Luke could do was watch her.Josh couldn’t help watching her too.He loved her.She was like a light that he needed in his life.Luke and Josh both received their scrambled eggs with coffee.‘Momma?’ Vera heard Rayne ask.‘Yes, my baby.’ Vera turned to Ra

It was around lunchtime when Luke heard his phone go off.He was quick to pull it out of his pocket just in case it was Vera.Just in case she needed him.He was quick to smile when he saw that it was Vera’s name he saw, on the screen.And so, he was just as quick to open her message.CAN YOU PLEASE GET THE KITCHEN STAFF TO GET ME A BURGER! Luke read the message.It made Luke feel giddy that Vera was asking him for assistance.That she had done exactly what he wanted her to do if she needed him.So, without another beat, he messaged her back.In the background, he could hear Josh teasing him.And Luke couldn’t have been any happier.He couldn’t remember the last time he had been this happy.OF COURSE, MY LOVE… IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU NEED? Vera enjoyed the book. And in no time she was up to the third chapter. Vera stopped to go to the bathroom and to have the snack that Luke had ordered her.  She didn’t ask him to.  But she appreciated it, anyway.  

Luke drove to the twin's preschool. He hopped out of the car and rushed to Vera’s side. He opened her door and offered Vera his hand. Vera took Luke’s hand with a smile. It made Luke squeeze his hand ever so slightly. 

Vera was in her element.  She loved her books.  She had already hand five books in her arms.  She should stop there.  But Luke wasn’t back yet, so she kept on looking.
