The car ride back to their home town was mostly in silence.  Vera mostly rested. They did speak about the children coming over to Vera’s place this afternoon.  Luke was going to delay it until the night after.  But Vera talked him into letting them still coming around. 

As soon as Vera stepped into her hotel room, she rushed into her bathroom.She made a bath as hot as she could take it and then slipped in.She felt relaxed straight away.Though she was still worried about tonight.All she knew was that she trusted Luke and she had to just go by that. .    .     . Luke, he couldn’t help being nervous too.He didn’t want to do the wrong thing and actually ruin their friendship.He loved their friendship.But he wanted to turn their friendship into a relationship.He knew there was a chance that she still wasn’t ready. But he was going to tell her tonight of his feelings.He wanted her to be with him.Always.He was longing for the commitment.He was longing for the, settling down and being a family and hopefully, they would grow as a family too.He knew

As Luke told Vera of his plans, he could see that she was getting nervous and more nervous.Though, he liked how she tried to show that she was trusting Luke.And that’s all that mattered. He had tried hard to get Vera to trust him.And so, just aft Luke finished telling Vera what he had planned, the waiter came with their orders.Vera couldn’t wait to eat.Luke was hungry too because he was nervous also.He has never been so nervous before.They ate with small talk.But when they finished eating, Luke was quick to speak.‘Tell me something that I don’t know about you, Vera.’ He spoke and looked at her intensely.This took Vera back a bit.There really wasn’t anything else to know about herself.Well, except that she was pregnant.But Vera didn’t want to tell him.She didn’t want to speak it out loud because then she would be accepting it.

Luke and Vera laid there in silence as they watched the stars.Luke was just soaking it up how it felt to have Vera pressed up against his side.He thought it felt magical.Nothing could beat this moment.Nothing could ruin this moment.Luke was going to remember this moment for the rest of his life.Vera was that comfortable that she felt herself falling asleep.She never dreamed of laying next to a guy.After what happened to Vera, she thought she wouldn’t be able to get close to a guy before.But Luke, he didn’t play very fair.He wouldn’t leave her alone until she trusted him.Even with trusting Luke, she still couldn’t imagine lying next to a man.Though the sudden shrill of Luke’s phone frightened Vera, making her swiftly sit up and scoot over a slight bit.She looked over to Luke to see him frowning.Vera wondered was it because of her reaction.

About ten minutes later, Luke saw Josh step into the room.He was glad his friend and brother had come.Josh quickly scouted the room and when his eyes rested on Vera asleep on his shoulder, he gave a little grin to LukeLuke gave his own grin back.It made him happy that his friend and brother had accepted Vera.He knew that joshed loved his Vera.He knew it was a protectively brother love.If Luke recalled, Josh had actually accepted Vera as soon as he knew of Luke’s intention.It was Josh who had suggested the ‘Win a date with Mr. Reynolds’And for that, he wouldn’t forget Josh ever doing that for him.Josh walked over to Sera and kissed her head ever so gently so he wouldn’t wake the poor little girl up.He then sat on the chair that was on the other side of Luke and Vera.He pulled his phone out of his pocket and held it up to show that he was going to message him.
