Chapter 149 - Cruel
Shouldn't I be the only one who was furious? And why did he ask if I thought I was good myself? “What do you mean?” I asked him quietly in my shaky voice. “You always only think about yourself, Kat. You never think about others,” he spat out. The next thing I heard was a glass breaking. He came to me, and I saw his hand bleeding. Did he cut himself? As much as I didn’t want to be with him at the moment, I still cared about him. “Damian, you are bleeding.” I stood up to go to him, but he was faster than me. He stood in front of me and pushed me back to the sofa roughly. I sat there, frozen by the way he kept handling my body forcefully. “When Rai died, you only wanted me to look after you. You NEVER thought of my feelings. I needed you! Yet you didn’t want to be with me! You prefer to stay in Jakar

Chapter 150 - Kidnapped (Part I)
Cold.. Why is it so cold? Where is the blanket? Why is the bed so hard? I reached around to get a blanket, but there was none. Why couldn’t I move my right arm? Did Damian really chain me up?   I opened my eyes and sat up. I looked around. Where am I? This isn't the villa. I was in a large room with a wooden floor and a small window near the ceiling. There was nothing else around me except for the pole in the middle of the room where my right hand was chained to. I didn’t even want to know why a pole was in the middle of a room. Am I in an abandoned house?   I tried to call for help, but no one came. There was no use in shouting for help. It only made my voice hoarse and made me thirsty. I don't know how long I’d be here or whether I would get food or water. I have to conserve my energy.   I groaned as I felt the back of my head aching. I reached toward it and was relieved to find there was no blood. &nb

Chapter 151 - Kidnapped (Part II)
Three days.. This is the third day I’ve been held captive. There was no telling the time except for the light shining through the tiny window. Two dark nights had passed..   I had kept myself strong during the days, but nighttime was the worst. There were no lightbulbs and it was raining. I was left alone in the dark. My panic attacks always crept in during the night. It was cold and dark, and the thunder outside didn't make it better.   They hadn’t left me my medications, but I always managed to fight off my panic attacks.. Thank God for that. My babies.. my only source of strength right now.   The little girl was always there for me during the days. She brought me my meals, a bucket for me to do my business, and a pack of dry and wet tissue for me to clean myself. I had been given meals twice a day. Not enough nutrients for the baby inside me, but it was better than nothing.   On the second day, I

Chapter 152 - Kidnapped (Part III)
Another day had passed, and today is the fifth day I'm here. I felt myself getting weaker. I was hungry, I was cold. They didn’t provide me with a blanket, but I was kidnapped.. what could I say? It wasn’t their job to make me comfortable. I was lucky they hadn’t killed me yet. I had tried to open the handcuff with the fork the little girl had handed me, but it wouldn’t come off. She even tried to help me, but if a grown-up like me couldn’t do it, then a small child wouldn’t be able to free me. I spent yesterday having a one-sided conversation with the little girl. Always telling her stories about my little boy. Whenever I cried, she would give me a tissue to wipe away my tears. She still wouldn’t talk to me. Maybe she couldn’t talk.. Did she suffer from mutism? She could hear me fine, but she hadn’t spoken to me. I asked her once about it, but she just shook her head. I wouldn’t wa

Chapter 153 - Safe
What is that beeping noise? It hurts my head. Please someone stop that noise..   I opened my eyes slowly. Why do my eyes hurt? Why does my whole body hurt? Where am I? I looked around. Everything was white. I didn’t recognize this place. Did they move me to a new place so no one could find me?   There were people looking at my left leg. They lifted my dress, and their hands started moving up my leg.   No! They are going to rape me again. I wouldn't let them do that again! I have to fight back! Move! Move your body, Kat!   “No! Don’t touch me! Don’t touch me!” I tried to scream, but my voice was hoarse and weak. They looked at me and pinned me down.   “Please, please, please. Don’t!” I screamed again, moving whichever body parts I could move.   “Kat, mom is here. Mom is here.. You are okay..” An elderly lady squeezed my hand.   I

Chapter 154 - Begging For Forgiveness
"Mom.. little Rai!" I exclaimed in panic. I'd forgotten to ask about him yesterday when I regained consciousness. "He's safe and sound in Jakarta with his grandpa, dear," Rai's mom quickly comforted me and gave my hand a little squeeze. "Does he know?" I asked her. "No, dear. We told him you were sick and unable to call him. He was sad, but Damian has been calling him on your behalf," she answered in her motherly voice.  I let out a sigh of relief. I didn't want my little boy to know what happened to me. I didn't want him to worry. "Katarina, dear.. We are still unable to contact your mom," she said after hesitating for a while. "It's okay, Mom. They always switch off their phones when they are on vacation." I sighed. "Is there any way to contact them?" Rai's mom asked with concern. "No, Mom.. It's best if they d

Chapter 155 - One Month In The Hospital
It’d been a month since I was hospitalized. My bruises and cuts had all healed nicely. The stab wound in my left hand had healed too. Just as Dr. Neil had predicted, I could use it with no problem at all - no pain, no stiffness, or anything. The stitches did leave a scar on the back of my hand and on my palm as the wound was through and through. My broken leg and arm were still in casts. Dr. Neil asked me to come back for a check-up next month or anytime if I felt any discomfort. I was supposedly able to be discharged earlier than a month, but Damian and mom insisted that I stay in the hospital for the best care. I tried to tell them I was okay, but they wouldn’t listen to me, so I just let them be. Marco, Nick, Max, and Jack visited me a few times, and I was more than glad of their presence. They didn’t ask me about what had happened, and they didn’t press me to talk when I didn’t feel like

Chapter 156 - Overthinking
“Baby girl, are you ready to go home?” Damian’s voice asked me. I was staring out the window of the hospital room, looking at nothing in particular when I heard his question. Home.. The villa that we had stayed in. Could I still call it a home? I turned my head to look at him and nodded. The hospital had provided a wheelchair for me to use, but Damian would not take it. He rather carried me out of the hospital in his arms. Damian didn’t drive us to the villa, he rather sat in the backseat with me. He positioned my broken leg up against the window sill, with me lying down, my head on his lap. Luckily I was short, so I was able to lie down comfortably. He kept stroking my hair throughout the drive while looking out the window. I quite loved his gesture. I’d missed him so much, and it hurt not to be able to tell him that or that I loved him. I hate the

Chapter 157 - Only Time Would Tell
I couldn’t move my leg and arm. Something heavy was on top of my leg and arm. Did they get me again?   I opened my eyes. It was dark. No, not as dark as the place where they kept me. There were glass windows surrounding the place. I looked to my side and froze. A man was with me. Oh God, I have to get away.   I tried moving my unbroken arm, but the man had my hand in his, and his other arm was on my waist. His leg was tangled with my unbroken leg. I looked closely again. He was sleeping. I could get away.   Suddenly the man stirred in his sleep, and I could see his face. I knew him. Damian. I looked around the room again. Oh, I remembered. We were in his villa. I sighed with relief, and my body relaxed.   What time is it? I must have dozed off while waiting for him. Damian had repositioned my body, so I was lying comfortably, with pillows underneath my broken leg.   I tu

Chapter 158 - Just Until Then..
"Mommy, can I go to the beach while waiting for Grandpa?" my precious little boy asked as I was washing the dishes after we had finished our lunch. "Sure, Rai. Let Mommy finish washing the dishes first, then we can go to the beach." I glanced at him and gave him a smile. "I'll take him, Baby girl. You stay here and rest. It'll only be a while. Dad is on his way over," Damian offered. "Oh, okay. Thank you." I smiled at him. "Bye, Mommy," little Rai said and hugged me. "See you later, Baby girl." Damian planted a kiss on the top of my head, and they walked toward the door to the private beach. "Enjoy you two," I called out to them. Little Rai waved his not-so-small hand anymore, and Damian smiled at me. "Ding Dong," the bell sounded just as I finished washing the dishes. "Hi, Dad," I greeted Rai's dad and kissed his cheek. I quickly prepared a cup of coffee for him and placed them on the sofa table. "Thank you, dear. You are looking better," he said as he reached for the cup
