Chapter 151
Training today was worse than yesterday and Heyli could tell by the burning of her thighs. They ran around the perimeter for close to two hours and anyone who dropped would have their names at the bottom of the scoreboard until someone replaced them. About four people had fallen and Heyli felt like she would be the next. "I'm so tired, Kay," Heyli huffed out as she jogged with the last of her strength. "Is this how you guys run?" Kayla, who was running directly in front of Heyli, turned for a bit to look at Heyli's sweaty face. "When it's Laura? Yes. I told you she's really mean," Heyli was so busy listening to Kayla that she didn't see the stone before her. Her feet hit the stone and she fell to the ground with a grunt. "You're out, Heyli!" The unmistakably recognizable voice belonging to Laura was heard. Heyli staggered to her feet and hissed in annoyance before leaving the line and going to take a seat on the stone chair at the far end of the perimet

Chapter 152
Throughout the day, Athena didn't pay as much attention as she used to. Something else was in her mind. Someone, rather. After the meeting, she had immediately left the hall to the privacy of her study. She made sure to dish out instructions to Damien. One that would keep him away from her office from the time being as she fantasized about Alex touching her. Like he had said, she couldn't stop thinking about him. He had left an impression on her. One she couldn't quite defeat. As soon as she got into the confines of her office, she quickly shut the door and locked it. Then she went to her windows and pulled the curtains, making everywhere a lot dimmer save for the light pouring out from the lamp on her table. She decided that the couch would be the best place for her so she went there, lay down and closed her eyes as she fantasized about Alex touching her. Her breath became faster as she shut her eyes and delved into the memories of last night. She could fe

Chapter 153
"You know you can put me down, Loki. Don't you?" Heyli said as they got to the palace gates. Loki didn't give her an answer. Instead, he spoke with one of the guards who opened the gates for them. Heyli huffed. She was starting to get uncomfortable now as they passed people who gave the both of them strange stares. "In no time, rumors about you and I being an item would spread around the kingdom. I'm new here, Loki. For the sake of my reputation, drop me." This actually incited a laugh from Loki but he did not drop her even when she tried to struggle to be free. "Nothing matters. Reputations, rumors and all that nonsense. It's just there to keep things interesting," Loki was just stepping into the garden that led to the palace when Heyli said something that had him turning his head to give her a confused look. "Bianca is going to have my head. She'd probably start bullying me," "Bianca?" "Yes, Bianca. I'm sure your ears are perfectly functional,"

Chapter 154
Heyli quietly shut the door to her sister-to-be's study. The idea of the adoption still weirded her out as she had never heard of someone being adopted to be a sister. It was strange. But still, she didn't dispute. Maybe the Lycans did this. King Athena was seated on one of the leather couches in the room and she leaned over to the coffee table before her to pick a glass cup in which she poured in an apple cider. She raised her hand and gestured to Heyli to take it from her. Heyli had never tried alcohol apart from the time she had taken a painful gulp from her father's cup of ale. It had tasted terrible and she had actually read about it to learn about different alcohol variants. She knew that apple cider was made out of fermented apples and she was curious to know how it'd taste so she took it from Athena's hand. Athena poured herself another drink before settling back into her chair. She took a sip from her glass. "Have a seat, Heyli. Stop standing there lik

Chapter 155
As soon as Heyli left her study, Athena decided that she needed to leave too. She had to get ready for dinner and as she locked her door, she wondered where Alex had gone all day long. His reply this morning had been vague, leaving her wondering where he went. Shaking her head, she decided that she was going to rid herself of such thoughts. As she walked down the hallway, she realized how empty it was and it had her wondering where everyone had gone. Shrugging, she decided that it was probably a coincidental occurrence and continued making her way down the empty hallway to her room. As she made a turn to the next narrow corridor that led to her room, she felt someone grab her by the waist and pull her backwards. Her next action was to sock her attacker in the gut and she came in contact with a hard body that groaned slightly. "Athena! You just hit me. Man, you're so violent," Athena turned to see Alex standing behind her and laughing and looking handsome as hell

Chapter 156
"What did she say to you?" Heyli looked up at Ciara from where she sat on her bed, deep in thought. She had forgotten to lock her door so Ciara had used this chance to slip into her room. Heyli heaved a deep breath and leaned against one of the wooden posters attached to her queen size bed. "She wants to adopt me as a sister," Ciara nodded and took a seat beside her on the bed. "That was unexpected," Heyli placed her palm on her head. "I know, right? She doesn't even talk to or acknowledge me and suddenly she wants me to be her adoptive sister. She also made me take a lot of apple cider. I don't think my sister would do that, would they?" Ciara smiled. "Sisters do worse. But tell me. Why do you think she made you drink a lot of apple cider?" "To make me talk, of course. Isn't it obvious?" "She probably knew you were going to coat your words when talking to her so she made you drink. Yes, I know that it's offensive but she did it for a good course. Wha

Chapter 157
It was time for dinner. Everyone sat in their respective seats. Heyli made sure she sat at the fsr end of the dining table, away from Athena and her intense stare. Alex was seated beside her and he was dressed in a cravat. Ciara sat beside her husband, close enough to Athena's seat at the head of the table. "Heyli," Alex called. "Why are you seated there?" Heyli shook her head. "No reason. I was just led to this place, nothing much," Alex nodded. "If that's what you want." Alex had been nothing but nice to her. More like her nice Uncle back in the days. Her Uncle Tarantino used to visit twice a year and each time he came, he would sneak in a lot of candies into her room as he was aware of how cruel her father was to her. Uncle Tarantino was her father's younger brother so he really had no say in whatever he was doing as her father had bullied him when they were younger. One time, he had asked to take her into custody and Heyli was so excited. She wa

Chapter 158
Once dinner was over, everyone wiped their mouths and bade each other a goodnight. Alex gave Athena a look as she stood to her feet and she nodded her head in understanding. Heyli was the first to leave as she felt really strange after taking that blood mixture. She knew she was going to be restless throughout the night and probably was going to vomit. As for Daniel and Ciara, they were leaving early the next morning without Alex. Alex had told them he was going to be back in Blue moon pack two days before the Royal Hunting to go with them and they had all agreed to that proposal. Alex did not tell them he was going to be training Athena to hunt. She had told him to keep it just between them and he had agreed. Now, she went into her room to change into something more comfortable: a pair of combat pants, a black tank top and combat boots. She packed her platinum blonde hair above her head before deciding that she was all set. "Are you ready?" Alex was standing by her

Chapter 159
"I don't like you, Alex," Athena said as she dusted her clothes. She had fallen on her buttock and it had been really painful as she cussed a lot, which was a rare thing for her to do. "I'm sorry," Alex said with amusement in his voice. For him climbing and jumping over the fence was really easy and he had landed firmly on his foot. He had helped her up while still laughing and as they walked towards the woods, she kept glaring at the back of his large head. "We should have gone through the front gates, you know? Command the guards at the gates to keep quiet about it." "You were the one who kept on talking about us not going through the front gates, Athena," Alex said and rolled his eyes. "Now, you're complaining and saying otherwise." "Of course! I wouldn't have landed my buttocks if we had gone through the front gates and you know that," "Can we quit talking about this? We already crossed the fence. The deed has been done and there's nothing we can do but mo

Chapter 160
"Am I really going to climb this till I actually break my legs? I've been doing this for the past thirty minutes!" Athena complained. "If that's what's going to kill you at the ceremony, we can just do climbing for tonight," Athena's left foot was hanging in the air and the only source of her support were both of her hands grabbing onto the jagged side of the rock and one foot on the rock's foothold. "It's strenuous," "It wouldn't have been if you could shape shift properly. I use my claws to climb and it's really easy," Athena pushed herself up with her right foot and balanced her left foot on the nearest foothold. She was breathing heavily by now. "Then why are you stressing me out?! I could easily do that if you teach me how to shape shift." "I chose the hard way." "My muscles are burning, Alexander," Athena cried as she pushed herself up again. She was already close to the top of the rock but she could feel the rough edges of the rock pierce the flesh o
