51. Dad
Alpha Asher’s povMy girls were home! They were both home. This is what everything has been for. The tears, the pain, all the hard work—and finally they were home.Leia had told the girls to go to bed. Aeryn must have been tired because she had run for weeks through a literal war zone. But I couldn’t sleep. I was too excited, too happy. We were at war, but I had my family back, and with them, I could face everything. I contacted Alpha Hiroshi instead of going straight to bed. He had helped my daughter get home and even shown her the safest route. In reality, you could go from his pack to mine in a few hours, but that would mean driving past several enemy packs.Besides, from what I’ve been hearing, the enemy has been attacking smaller packs and taking them over, and I was sure that if Aeryn wasn’t there to help Alpha Hiroshi, they would have done the same to his pack.I promised to stop by tomorrow with some soldiers to help protect his border. I wanted to meet this Alpha myself to t

52. Cell
Storm’s povSomehow, it made sense. All this fucking time, the daughter of the Iron Alpha had been in our pack, in my bed. Was this why she killed my mother? Was evil just in her fucking blood?I stared at her father, who seemed way too fucking calm. I had seen him fight, and he was fucking brutal, and suddenly he stopped fighting, merely defending himself, and it was making me so fucking pissed. Did he think I wasn’t worth the fucking fight?!Then he knocked me out, and I woke up stitched up, dressed in some sweatpants and a shirt, pumped full of wolfsbane, and fucking pissed. I was in a cell that looked more like a tiny room. It had a bed, a small table, and even a TV. There was also a shower with a toilet that was separated from the rest by a short wall, so you got some privacy, but they could still see where you were. What the fuck was this type of dungeon? It was nothing like the one beneath my packhouse.Alpha Asher sat down in front of me, and I wanted to knock that arrogant smi

53. Update
Aeryn’s pov"I get why you like him." Grandpa Cy said, mind-linking me. "He’s fucking stubborn, but he’s sweet when he doesn’t think anyone’s looking. I even saw him talk to the damn horse.""What did you name the horse, grandpa?" I asked, knowing all too fucking well the types of names Grandpa Cy used to give to animals."Nothing bad. He’s called Ant."I laughed, "Grandpa Cy, that’s fucking horrible."Grandpa Cy laughed with me, "your mate thought the same. He has a pretty fucking cool name, Storm.""His wolf is called Brand. It means fire in Dutch.""That's cool too. I think he cursed at me in Dutch. What does kloetsak mean?"I giggled, "it’s klootzak, grandpa and it means ballsack. It’s like asshole.""You should come over. Maybe not right now, but I would fucking love for you to see all the animals and meet our daughter. She came from the school too."I smiled, thinking of my grandpa. I had missed him, but apparently he had missed me too."I will come over soon.""Well, I have to g

54. Farm
Storm’s pov"So, you’re expected to clean the fucking stables. Or is that beneath an alpha?" Cyrus said, winking at me."Klootzak," I muttered under my breath and went to work.I hadn’t seen animals like this. I thought I would be taken to a meat farm. We had several farms where we raised cattle or grew crops. But the only purpose of this farm seemed to be to take care of animals. Cyrus talked about them like they were his pets; he had even given each of them a name. Fucking weird names.I stroked a horse’s mane, "Ant? What the fuck is that for name?""I heard that!" Cyrus yelled from across the barn.Osiris had kept to himself, but always kept an eye on me. After a while, he suddenly spoke. "I lost my parents too, when I was young.""I know that. It’s because you fucking killed them."Osiris growled and pushed me, "how dare you!"I growled back, ready to attack him."Os! Just fucking calm down." Cyrus yelled from the back. Why the fuck did Osiris let this Cyrus guy speak to him this w

55. Rejection
Aeryn’s povI decided to train with Dad near the others. I hadn't seen most of them since I left the School, and it was great to see them again.Dad and I started to spar, and it was so fucking nice just focusing on training and forgetting everything else."Can I spar with you?" Riker suddenly asked, touching my arm briefly.I had no idea he was here; he probably came with Dove.I gave Riker a hug, and then I heard a loud growl, accompanied by a voice I would recognize anywhere."MINE!"I turned around and stared straight into his eyes. I knew Storm was here at the pack, but I hadn’t expected to see him so soon. I wanted to run to him, but I fucking couldn’t. He wanted me dead. He wanted to hurt me. After all, he was with another woman just a few days ago, so I was pretty sure he was done with me."So why did he call you his then?" Delta asked.Dad and Riker got in front of me, but that seemed to anger Storm even more."Ash! I could use your help." Grandpa Os said, and dad dashed towar

56. The Truth
Storm’s povWhy did she have to look so fucking good?!I gradually regained contact with Brand and Aaro. She was fucking nervous.I couldn't concentrate on her, not after what Alpha Asher had said. Could it be fucking true or was he a liar like his daughter?I had to admit that everything I had seen of the Iron River pack so far was how I would picture a perfect pack. They seemed to respect Alpha Asher, but no one seemed scared. Everyone was treated fairly and had a fucking choice. And they genuinely seemed happy. There was not a single happy person in our packhouse. Dad didn’t fucking care about happiness, only power. Mom was miserable, and everyone else was fucking terrified. The only times I had been happy were when I was with Aaro."Cara?" I tried to mindlink the one person that I knew I could trust. But there was no fucking reply. Even if something happened to her, I wouldn’t have felt it because of the wolfsbane.Who else?"The omegas, Alpha Asher mentioned. They were always loya

Aaro’s povI had to tell him. I was done with lying. I had no fucking clue how he would respond, especially after hearing that his pack was taken from him, his mother was held hostage, and his best friend died."What?" Storm said, his voice suddenly sounding a lot fucking softer."I am pregnant. I haven’t done any ultra sound or test or anything, because I didn’t want to admit to myself that it was true. But you should know either way. No more fucking secrets.""I'll go," I sighed as Storm stared ahead. "I’m really sorry."Dad was waiting for me upstairs and held his arms out. "Do you want to talk?"I put my head against dad's chest and dad put his arms around me."They’re saying Storm is a traitor, and they’re holding his mother captive so he won’t come back. It's really fucking bad, dad; they murdered his best friend and one of the Omega women who assisted me.""If you want to help, we’ll help." Dad said. "He’s your mate.""I don't think he wants to be with me, dad," I shook my head.

headache
hi I get stressed related headaches, and I guess socializing with my mil was too much. ;) or it's pms. anyway, I've written half a chapter, but I can't finish it right now due to a massive headache.I'll go sleep now and hopefully be able to finish tomorrow.I know you aren't complaining, and you're always supportive. I just wanted to keep you updated, so you're not waiting for nothing. I also wrote the last 5 chapters without a clear plan, just letting my imagination lead, but now I have to tie it all together. So I'm to make a plan, but it isn't easy with my head pounding.

58. Enemy
Storm’s pov"Fuck. I shouldn’t have done that."I saw the look in Aaro’s face when she heard those words. I might regret having sex with her, but she didn’t. I couldn’t fucking get it. Why didn’t Aaro realize there was no fucking way in hell we could be together? It was like the Moon Goddess had set us up to fail. The more I thought about it, the more I agreed with my father. True mates were dangerous. I just lost fucking control. She smelt so damn good and she looked even better, and I couldn’t withstand our bond. But this couldn’t happen again. We didn’t say a word as we quickly cleaned up the office. We walked out, and a few people gave us some looks. They must have heard everything. Normally I wouldn’t give a fuck who heard me have sex with my mate, but things were different here. I was their enemy."Then why haven’t they treated you like one?" Brand asked. "You’re the one that still thinks in those black-and-white terms.""There isn’t a grey fucking area, Brand. There’s us and the

59. Aeryn's Mate
Aaro’s pov"I think he does care," Kane said, but he hadn’t seen Storm for the last few weeks.Yeah, he had sex with me, but that didn’t mean shit. Storm obviously regretted it, and the stupid mate bond was probably too blame. I knew Storm wouldn’t accept our help and would leave as soon as possible. But I just wanted one fucking day with him.One day, I could pretend this was our life. I could be home and have Storm too. I wouldn't have to fucking choose. Not that I even had the choice of coming back; his pack would never accept me.We were enemies, and there was no future for us.It hurt to see the footage. I was hurt a lot fucking more than I realized, and so was Eve. When I was in it, it all happened so fast, but seeing it back, it actually took me a while to get up and get the knife."Can I show this to your dad?" Kane asked.I nodded my head; I had told dad what happened anyway. I had no clue where Storm had gone, but dad was in Kane’s office shortly after he mindlinked him.Kane
