Mic Check
KACELAI shook myself awake, opening my suitcase.  I hadn’t packed any gym whore outfits, so I was going to have to make do with what I had.I dressed in a pair of biking shorts and rolled up the hems a little so that my long legs were showcased.  I paired it with a tiny sports bra that I usually had a t-shirt over the top of.  Instead of a t-shirt, I put on a flannel shirt and left it unbuttoned.  I slicked back my hair and tied it into a ponytail high up on top of my head and then pulled a few tendrils out, letting them curl over my face.  I added a lot of mascara and eyeliner to my face and applied concealer to cover my scar.  I made big, pouty lips with some of Tank’s lipstick and then presented myself to the guys. They were all silent.  “What?” I demanded.  “Is it not good enough?”“Um, my queen?  You’re showing a lot of skin,” Mouse squeaked out.

Green Machine Shot
KACELAI went into the front desk and up to the reception.  “Hey ya!  I would like to get a guest membership, please.”  I gave a big, perky grin to the tiny blonde girl working the desk. She looked at me and gave me a once over.  I knew the type.  She was used to being intimidating.  I could have had fun playing her game but I needed something from her so I kept my cool.“Sorry, honey.  We don’t do that here.  You gotta pay for a year’s membership.” she said, turning back to her computer.  I could see she was badly losing a solitaire game. “Oh, boo,” I said, pouting.  I looked around.  I probably needed a dude for this to work but I couldn’t see one.  Dammit.  I would try again.“So, here’s the thing,” I said, leaning forward, conspiratory.  “I’m here for the week.  I want to work

Wyatt's Surprise
WYATTWhen I turned on the news this morning, I saw a story out of Boston about the O’Callahan men.  The news anchor was reporting that the authorities were speculating that there was a carbon monoxide leak.  I turned off the television and picked up my phone.I made some arrangements and then threw a few clothes into an overnight bag, running down the stairs.  I could hear Lia’s soothing voice as I passed the second floor landing and I knew that she was talking to the girls from Laos.  I felt slightly guilty about not stopping to help her, but they were still skittish of men and I wanted to go.  I jumped into the waiting car and sped off.I met a private jet at the small airport in town and we took off.  I was on my way to meet Kacela in Boston and then we were going to fly somewhere else, her choice.  I wanted a few days alone with her, not on Packlands, where we could spend some time together without distractions

Kansas City
WYATTI shook awake a sleepy Kacela when we landed at the downtown airport.  I looked out the window and was impressed with the skyline.  She grinned at me.“I called this place home for a few years,” she said.  “It was a good place to blend in.”I followed her down the steps of the plane and gave instructions to the pilot and flight attendants.  I was paying them per day and for the use of the plane.  “Take some time off on me.  Do some sightseeing.  I have your number.”  I paused, looking at Kacela.  “Today is Wednesday.  Say we plan on leaving Saturday night?” She nodded, transferring a smile to the flight crew.  “I’m going to get you rooms at the Hyatt at Crown Center,” she said.  “It’s right in the middle of everything.  You’ll love it.”They murmured their thanks and Kacela got on her

Charlie's Surprise
KACELA My heart stilled when I saw Charlie. He was a loose end that I needed to take care of but I wasn’t planning on taking care of him right now. Looks like he had different plans. Get my mom out of here, I mind linked Wyatt. Not a chance I’m leaving you here alone with him, Wyatt answered. I rolled my eyes. “Done with your conversation, sis?” Charlie asked with a smirk. He knew what we were doing. “Where’s Emmett?” I asked, looking past him into the empty living room. “I sent him on an errand,” Charlie answered. I almost quit breathing. “Will he be back soon?” I asked, carefully. I needed to know if he was dead. “Depends on how long we take,” Charlie said cheerfully. I crumpled my face in a look of confusion. I had no idea what he wanted. I decided to quit playing the game. “So does mom know?” I asked, walking past her and into the kitchen where a pot of enchilada sauce bubbled happily on the stove. “Know what?” my mom asked, returning to the pot and stirring, gi

Burial
WYATT We carefully transported Emmett to the bed in her room and Kacela’s mom sat on a chair next to him, holding his hand.  I could sense that there was something between them.  I could tell that Kacela was suspicious, too, because her eyes narrowed as she watched them. After dark she pulled her jeep up to the street as close to the side door as possible and we wrestled Charlie’s wolf out of the building into the vehicle.  She got behind the wheel and drove south, her face grim. “Where are we going?” I asked, tentatively. “A little property I know,” she said.  “It’s private property but the owners are never there.  I hope this isn’t one of the weekends they decided to stay.” We drove about twenty minutes before she veered off the interstate and followed the signs for Cedar Lake.  Five minutes later she had us bumping down a road next to a field, the ruts knocking me around.  I grabbed the handle near the rol

Take Care of Me
KACELA I was so exhausted.  Between the incident with my brother, his burial, finding Emmett and the conversation with my mom, I was emotionally and physically drained.  I let Wyatt lead me down the stairs and into the jeep. He parked at the hotel, and I just sat, staring off into space.  He came around to the passenger door and helped me out, gently taking my hand and handing the keys to the valet.  He led me in, and I blindly followed. He didn’t stop, just went directly to our room, using the key to let us in.  I stood, obediently by the door while he shut it and secured it.  I saw that someone had placed our bags in the closet and turned down the bed of this opulent room.  I still didn’t move. Wyatt looked me over and then led me to the bed, gently seating me on the edge.  He bent down, untying my sneakers and then removing them from my feet.  He rubbed each foot gently, working the tendons and kneading

The Ring
WYATT The next couple of days was a whirlwind.  Kacela took me to some of her favorite places in the city.  Most were pretty cool, and I got to eat some amazing barbecue, but I did have to pretend at the art museum I was interested.  I was standing next to a huge sculpture of a badminton birdie and wondering what the point was.  Kacela snapped my photo while I plastered a fake smile on my face. She gave her apartment to her mom.  She gave her jeep to Emmett and turned red when he got a little teary eyed.  I really liked the guy, even though he was human.  He genuinely loved Darla, even though there was a fifteen year age gap.  I then chastised myself.  There was almost a century between mine and Kacela’s age and no one was judging me. On our last night there, we were walking through the Plaza area, enjoying the picturesque lights that they had strung over every flat surface and every tree.  I pulled her into a

Pups
WYATT After the surprise wedding, we went back to the hotel to celebrate.  I had planned on celebrating in bed, but our guests had other ideas.  We ended up at a restaurant in a private room, dancing, drinking and laughing well into the early morning hours.  When we finally dragged ourselves back to the hotel, the front desk clerk nicely reminded us that checkout was at 10:00am. “Did you like the surprise?” I asked Kacela, somewhat worriedly.  We hadn’t had a chance to be alone since the wedding and I began to have doubts.  She responded by flinging herself into my arms.  I picked her up and she wrapped her legs around me, grinding herself into my rod that was becoming awake.  I put my lips on her, kissing her hard. “What is it that you want, Mrs. King?” I asked. “I want you to fuck me hard, Mr. King,” she whispered back, nibbling on my earlobe.  That was all the encouragement I needed.  I reached u

Picnic
KACELA I’ve been married for three weeks, now.  When we got back to the pack there were a few things we needed to take care of.  Lia had named the girls Emily and Rachel and she had spent some time trying to find any relatives that they may have alive.  When the extensive search pulled up nothing, she and Jarrett adopted them. There was a quiet ceremony for the girls to be adopted.  We knew that they were shifters.  My wolf could sense it and Dex was a little unsettled about the whole thing.  We would find out when they aged what sort of creature they were.  Lia was not worried.  Neither was Dali.  I worried enough for the both of us. My coronation ceremony was set for two weeks.  The castle was in a bustle, planning for it, and I had relinquished most of the duties to the house mother.  I didn’t particularly care about the color of my napkins, much to Lia’s mirth, so I left the finer details to Mrs. Wolt
