The Unsolved Mystery
“Luna…” Kaden scratched his head, contemplating whether or not to ask the question in his mind. “Ermm… How exactly did Gen get back home?” Kaden finally found the courage to ask as he moved to stand beside Eva, who stood in front of a large painting hanging on the broad wall before them. The room was poorly lit, making the painting blurred due to the shadow cast over it. But whatever was on the painting… it seemed essential to Eva as she stood ever so still in front of it, staring like it had some connection to her past. As if she was trying to decipher a hidden message. The longer she stared, the more her mind raced with memories and emotions that seemed to be triggered by the artwork.About three feet from them was Karla. Eva sighed, not missing the confusion in Kaden’s tone. “Honestly, I am also clueless about this matter. I have been trying to wrap my head around the fact that just as she showed up unconscious in her room, Monica lays dead in front of my car a few minutes later

Zoe (2)
“Hurrr!” Genova yawned as she stretched all four limbs across her large, soft bed. “Finally… It's the weekend!” She exclaimed with a broad smile on her face. Quickly jumping out of her bed, she hurried for the bathroom as fast as she could while muttering, “Can’t be late. Can’t be late. Can’t be late” till she stood in front of the massive mirror inside the huge modern bathroom. She steadily passed her toothbrush around her dental, doing her best to get that early morning breath out.She took the brush out of her mouth a few seconds later, turned the tap on for water and raised her face towards the bathroom's ceiling to gargle. As she swung her head back down to get rid of the water in her mouth, her line of view passed by the mirror, and a dark image suddenly appeared but vanished as quickly as it came.Genova had failed to notice at first as her face went down again to spit out the wa

“So here we are, the city park. What do you think about the place, Gen?” Eva asked with a huge smile as she rested both her fists on opposite sides of her waist. "I think it's absolutely stunning and it certainly is large," Gen replied, gazing at the picturesque scenery that surrounded them. "Also, the view is breathtaking, and the fresh air is so invigorating." She stayed silent momentarily and then asked, “But what exactly would we be doing here?”Eva placed her right thumb and index finger on her chin, looking around for signs of fun. As she rotated her head, she saw that the people there were either playing board games, tennis or volleyball. There were plenty of activities to choose from, which was a relief because this meant the girls wouldn’t get bored during their time here. Observing the area some more, she spotted a small wooden cottage standing at the far end of the park.Eva stared at the cabin briefly before s

Unfinished Business
The ball fell to the ground, leaving a round mark on Genova's forehead. Genova soon followed suit, falling to the ground with a loud thud and immediately going unconscious. “Someone, call an ambulance!!” A man yelled from within the crowd as people began to gather around the unconscious girl. “Gen. Come on wake up, Gen!!” Ashly repeatedly yelled, shaking Genova's hand in an attempt to wake her up. On the other hand, Zoe stood still at the other end of the table, holding her racket tightly and watching as everyone surrounded Genova. She had this terrified look on her face like she had just killed a person. Maybe she did. Her mind wasn't clear anymore as the only words that played in her head were, “What have I done?”~Meanwhile~Eva slowly approached the wooden shack as if something subconsciously called her. Getting to the front door, she pushed it open slowly and walked in.The once sunny day t

“And where exactly have you been?” A male voice sounded as Ashley walked into her house, holding her bag and shoes in her hand. The room was dark and shadowy with only small glimmerings of red light hanging from the ceiling. The person the voice seemed to have come from was sitting on a long round couch in what appeared to be the living room.“How's that any of your business Dominic? I'm old enough to go out wherever I want,” Ashly replied a little irritated.  Dominic got up from the couch and let out a long sigh. “There have been recent sightings of Rouges around the hotel and in different parts of the city. My duty as your elder brother is to protect you from harm, but you're making it really hard for me by sneaking in and out of the house whenever you feel like it.” He continued, “I understand that you want to have fun and explore the city, but please be cautious and stay away from areas where Rouges have been spotted

Turning Red
It was a Sunday morning with everyone going about their usual business. Birds chirped from nearby trees and the fallen leaves on the ground rustled as the wind blew wildly.“I understand the girl named Genova Is your friend, correct?” Meredith spoke while looking at Ashly sitting facing her in a coffee shop. “Yes, My Queen. We met at school,” Ashly replied. “Okay then, ensure to remain friends with her for as long as possible. I will need something from you soon enough.” Meredith’s voice was soft. She picked up the small mug containing her black coffee and brought it to her deep shade red lips.Ashly shifted uncomfortably in her seat. “Uhh… that's not a problem, we're already really close, so I believe our friendship will last even if I don't put in so much effort. She’s a sweet soul,” Ashly replied a little shakingly.Meredith lowered the mug down on the table with elegance. “Good! You may take your leave.” Ashly jerked back a little. “That’s… that’s it?” Her voice was laced with

“So, what is it you want to talk about?” Genova questioned as she trailed beside Noah towards the school gates. “Nothing much. I only want the chance to know and be close to you.” Noah placed his arms behind his back. “I am just being a good pupil wanting to introduce myself and officially welcome our school’s brand-new addition.”“But I've been here for a few weeks now; I’m not so brand new anymore,” Genova rolled her eyes, intentionally trying to make things difficult for the dude.“Trust me, Lady, this school has much more to it than that which meets the eye.” Noah grinned.Genova’s lips formed a thin line, pondering his words as they walked toward the car parked outside the gate. “Not bad,” she complimented as soon as she spotted Noah’s black Dodge Viper.  “Thanks! Fan of cars I see.” “You could say that agai

The Meeting
The sound of keyboards clicking rapidly could be heard in a dark room. The only source of light that could be seen was that which came out through the laptop screen. On the laptop's screen were Genova’s X-rays the Doctor who treated her had taken after the accident at the Tennis Court.  “Fascinating!” He muttered as he viewed the images displayed on his screen. “That ball had a significant impact on this female’s skull. It left a severe crack.” He rubbed his chin and leaned back on his seat. “How did she survive this? And it was only a tennis ball; what kind of inhuman power threw it?”The Doctor continued rubbing his chin while his head ran wild with numerous possibilities. He had seen so many things and been through enough experiences to know that supernatural beings existed in their world - thus making him a believer in the hidden world. The only thing he needed was proof to validate his assumptions.

The Meeting (2)
~SIX YEARS AGO~“State your business here or so help me, Goddess!” Eva snarled. Her battle teeth elongated as thick fur started to replace her once smooth skin. “Hahahaha...” A cloaked figure standing in front of her laughed and slowly raised her left index finger toward her. “I've only come to pass a warning, child, for only through you will this world become what it is meant to be...” The cloaked figure said."WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU ON ABOUT?" Eva scowled as a bolt of lightning struck the clouds, followed by a loud rumble of thunder. The cloaked figure laughed once more. "Those who dare to defy Fate's predetermined course. Fangs and claws will tear apart flesh from bone and soul from heart. Her path is paved with both joy and adversity. With loss and gain, through tears and smiles. And on the day she closes her eyes, death will be the end of the world."With that, the cloaked figure vanished into the darkness, leavi

Dinner (1)
Dark clouds floated by in the night sky, and the rays of moonlight shone over the city, giving it a mysterious ambiance. A shadowy figure, resembling a gargoyle, could be seen sitting atop a tall building. His silky raven hair billowed along with the cold wind, and his black eyes with silver rings, although seemingly emotionless, glimmered like lightning under the night hues. Rising from the cozy sofa he was crouched on, he moved toward the edge of the building and dropped down as though gravity was his starting point.                           *******It was early Friday morning. The wind was chilly, and birds chirping could be heard from a distance. Students wandered around aimlessly, going in different directions and murmuring about their businesses.Genova hurried towards her class holding some books in her hand and her bag hanging around her neck.
