A few months later.Emiliana sat on the edge of her bed, staring blankly at her phone. She missed the way he made her laugh and the way he always knew just what to say to make her feel better. She loved this guy.She took a deep breath and dialed his number. Her heart was pounding in her chest as she waited for him to answer."Hello?" His voice was hesitant as if he wasn't sure who was on the other end of

I know you were asleep. You need to come over right now," he said urgently.Emiliana sat up in bed, suddenly wide awake. "What's going on, Jace? Is everything okay?""It's the camp director. He's been making threats," Jace said, his voice shaking with anger. "He's blaming us for ruining his reputation and he says he's going to sue us for everything we have."Emiliana felt a knot form in her stomach. It had been two years since Jace had left for New York, and Emiliana had missed him every day. She had worn the beautiful necklace he had given her every day as a reminder of their bond, and it had helped her get through some tough times. They also communicated via voice and video calls once in a while as a result of choked-up work schedules and activities. But then, one day, Jace showed up at her doorstep, unannounced. Emiliana couldn't believe her eyes when she opened the door to see him standing there. He looked different, more mature, more confident, more handsome than ever before, and even wealthier too. "Jace!" she exclaimed, throwing her arms around him in a tight embrace. "I missed you so much," he said, holding her close.
