Chapter seventy one: Please, let me go
Bella’s POV The embarrassment was too much to bear so I made my way to the only place that best releases my anxiety. Walking out on the people in the living room. It just doesn’t make sense, why do men do this? So he had a fiancée the whole time?My legs moved faster than my mind for the sake of my heart as I pushed open the music room door but immediately the door shut behind me I couldn’t find the strength to keeping walking. My back stayed plastered as I slowly slumped until my butt touched the ground and my hands wrapped around me knee protectively. It felt too good to be true, I knew such happiness wasn’t made for someone like me, yet I thought I could dream a little. Why was love always this cruel to me? My sobbing eyes had grown swollen by now but it didn’t matter, I let myself wallow in self pity, seeing as it’s the least I can offer myself right now. ‘All men are the same!’ I usually said this line as an excuse to protect my fragile heart because I wasn’t sure if it cou

Chapter seventy two: Lethal heartbreak
Arya’s POV A little stir of the yacht jolted my eyes open. ‘Seems it’s back to shore’ I mentally concluded as my eyes trailed down my naked frame causing me to remember how I lost woefully to Nicklaus. This only made me grit my teeth in annoyance as I reached for my phone to glance at the time. I genuinely felt shocked to see it reflected 2am. Just then, I realized the space next to me was empty. Where could he be? The washroom? My helpless mind couldn’t help wondering but I didn’t think much into it and shut my eyes close in hopes of drifting back to sleep but they peeled open thirty minutes later, still, Nicklaus wasn’t in bed and there wasn’t a sign that he had returned. This kinda got me worried as I moved toward the wardrobe and wore a gown. The chilly breeze cause me to fold my arms as I slowly but carefully made my way through the yacht. First I knocked on the bathroom doors but no response, then I checked back at the pool section and still no sign of him. And then it hit me,

Chapter seventy three: They want revenge
“This punk dares to ignore my calls!” Adam’s roaring voice echoed in his study while Juliet approached his table with a tablet and a glass of water.“Try not to get work up, it’s not good for your health” she lectured as he threw the tablet into his mouth and gulped down some water. “Hmm! Where’s Nicklaus at the moment. Tell him to get his ass right here now!” Adam completely disregarded Juliet’s words and kept on his pitch with his assistance who took a deep bow and went out to make some calls. A short while later he walked back in to announce.“Sir Nicklaus is on a yacht with...”“With that stupid mistress of his, she’s the cause of this mess and the reason why he refused to pick my calls?!” Adam’s chest heaved from his unsteady breathing while Juliet took position behind him to help massage his nape while running it to his shoulders. But what no one knew was that underneath her grandiosity a thick layer of hidden schemes thrived and her ears remained alert to pick any relevant

Chapter seventy five: Is it worth it?
Arya’s POV I knew it wasn’t appropriate to follow Lucious to his mansion but life hasn’t been giving me better options of recent. I thought my apartment was the problem but it seemed they could easily fish me out in an hotel. For the love of God I don’t even have an apartment to fall back into and I say this with every ounce of sincerity as I slid open my purse and dangled out a key set. It caused my mind to reflect on Nicklaus words on the yacht. [“I moved your things to another apartment and texted you the address. This is the key. Don’t even think about returning, I’m sure someone else has occupied it by now”]If not for those words I would’ve gone straight to my apartment instead or an hotel. Well, it doesn’t matter now, I know how he truly feels about me. I’ll just do my best to stay out of his face while still trying to keep my last straw of dignity. But my helpless mind couldn’t help wondering,How’d he know I was at an hotel? My stupid question was answered quickly, of co

Chapter seventy six: Tequila shots
Arya’s POV With winter slowly creeping in, the atmosphere was chilly with cold breeze gently sweeping through but I didn’t care. Being as stubborn as a bull I was adamant on wearing the strap dress which gave little to no protection against the weather. My palms moved to caress my elbows while my back slumped further into the back seat of the cab, the windows were locked but the cold somehow sipped through. I remember turning down Lucious offer to drive me there and I could only blame myself for getting stuck in traffic. “Ding!” My phone popped a message. It was from Emily. A soft chuckle escaped my lips as I read her text. “Arya, where’re you? Don’t even think of bailing”.Wow, my party reputation must be so bad in Emily’s eyes, then again I couldn’t blame her, I turned down more invites than I could count, still I was determined to keep face.“What’d you take me for? I’m stuck in traffic” I texted back and it didn’t take a second later to get her reply “sorry mama, traffic

Chapter seventy seven: Do you trust me?
Arya’s POVThe world was spinning? Or was I just losing my footing? It was hard to tell as Nicklaus death grip on my wrist pulled me through the crowd, he didn’t stop even when we got out. He reached his car and my eyes shot open. “I’m not going anywhere with you!” I barked lowered my head and bit his hand like a dog. I didn’t care, it was the only effective way I knew to break fee and it proved itself useful. My hand quickly wrapped around my wrist, it was glowing red already. Surely, he deserved that bite and more to be honest cause it’s totally illogical to beat up a complete stranger. Is he a thug? Just because he’s rich he can get away with anything?‘Well, technically he’s stinkingly rich, so...’ I mentally corrected before shooting a death glare to the man flaring his nostrils at me. Does he even have the right to be mad? For f*ck sake! He’s the one who’s way outta line. I knew it, I was right. Nicklaus sure has the potential to go crazy and he was slowly starting to reveal

Chapter seventy eight: Logic over Love
The simple question turned to a thorn in her flesh. A lump stuck in her throat, seeming like time itself stopped. She couldn’t voice out the answer tugging her chest. Was this question a test? Did he know what he had done? Why would he ask her such? Especially at a time like this. The fact that she actually trusted him made it all annoying. Blindly following love is a crime. No matter what others said, it is. What’s she? The goddess of endurance? Did she learn the art of endurance in China? Her eyes remained emotionless, there was no point replying, either answer would pose a fool of her. Nicklaus seemed to catch on her hesitation and didn’t press further. He locked her hands and headed straight for the bathroom. Arya stared down at her cold feet, the sides colored red from the pressure of the heels. She couldn’t help but admire the back view of the man she’s trying hard to hate. He entered the cubicle, tested and regulated the water temperature then left it running. “Get i

Chapter seventy nine: I’ll gladly accept it
Immediately the car halted, the door slam shut. Bella bolted out and as you’ve guessed Klaus followed behind. Luckily the open space was secluded and open at the same time. It was near the beach so the sounds of trees wailing at the breeze seemed to soothe Bella’s throbbing heart a bit. “Am I asking for too much?” She turned to face the man trailing behind her. She didn’t care that her legs could barely hold her. When else can she have such conversations? If not for the influence of alcohol all her rage would’ve remained bottled in. “Yes” he breathed and her eyes flashed a series of sadness while her hands moved to tuck her hair in frustration. “I can’t even have my freedom” she scoffed as her red eyes seemed to have reddened. “Am I destined to be trapped like a rat in a cage?” She added with a sniff. “I can’t let you go, Bella. So please let’s work this out”His words seemed to fall on deaf ears as Bella kept grinning like a goof. Each stretch of her lips held a sad ending. B

Chapter eighty: Arya’s married?!
Amidst the deafening music Alex ears seemed sharp enough to listen intently to the conversation between Emily and someone he’d best describe as a parasite. He took just a shot and was very much in control of himself but same couldn’t be said for the drowsy woman rambling on about. “So what’re you celebrating?” The ‘parasite’ asked Emily who couldn’t help smiling sheepishly at her thoughts. “Its a secret” she teasingly breathed while Alex helplessly rolled his eyes, unable to fathom what the hell kept him here? The man in question seemed more intrigued by her mysterious answer and took the opportunity to get closer. An act that didn’t go unnoticed by Alex. He found himself getting impatient which was strange and on impulse he voiced “another shot”.A shot was placed before him and as he reached for the little cup someone else beat him to it. A manicured finger slipped past and picked up the glass. In the blink of an eye the content was emptied down her throat. Alex followed the t
