Chapter 71
As we entered 'Raw', a steak restaurant over in Brooksville, the warm aroma of freshly cooked meat enveloped us. The decor of the place was elegant yet cozy, setting the stage for a wonderful evening. I couldn’t help but smile as I looked around the table at this vibrant, close-knit family. Eluna and Selene were both still beaming with the pride of their graduation day. They wore matching smiles and a glint of accomplishment in their eyes. Blade, Skye, and Koda were engaged in a lively debate about getting their stuff packed and moved out of the family house, their voices filling the air with enthusiasm. Gran, the true matriarch of the family, sat regally at the head of the table, a twinkle in her eyes as she watched all of her grandchildren. And by the sounds of it, I wasn’t the only one who had figured out that Gran wasn’t her mouthy usual self, since Blade looked over to his grandmother. “Gran, are you feeling OK?” I heard him as

Chapter 72
Jenna’s P.O.V.The afternoon sun streamed through the windows, casting a warm glow over my uncle’s bedroom as I sat on the floor amidst boxes and crates, sorting through the belongings of my late uncle, Ben. Decluttering had become a necessary and emotional task since he had passed away. Each item held a memory, a piece of the man who had raised me when my mother was no longer around. I rolled over the sleeves of my hoodie, it was actually Adam’s, but ever since he had brought it with him to come and spend the night here, I had basically made it my own. And seeing the look in Adam’s eyes whenever I was wearing his hoodie, honestly wasn’t something I minded that much either.or the speed at which he mostly would rip the hoodie off of me as well… I smiled, taking in a deep breath and being able to smell his scent of the sweater. Ever since Eluna and Selene had graduated, it looked as if the en

Chapter 73
Adam’s P.O.V.The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm, golden glow through the windows of Gran’s old house. I had spent the entire day helping her pack her belongings as she prepared to move to the elderly home. It was a bittersweet moment, filled with memories of the countless hours I had spent in this house as a child. Gran didn’t seem to mind this moving day at all, all she had done all day was boss my brothers around. The thought of her leaving this familiar place was a difficult one to accept for me. I had been considering buying the house and keeping it in the family, but financial constraints had made it seem like an impossible dream nowadays. As we sorted through her belongings, memories flooded back to me, family gatherings, holidays, and birthday parties, the comforting feeling that came with being inside this house. It was where I had grown up in a way, the place where I had learned many life lessons, and where I had shared

Jenna’s P.O.V.Finding out the truth about my uncle had left me in a state of shock, the awful truth about him keeping my mother’s letters from me, was unraveling before my eyes life a nightmare I just couldn’t escape. The weight of this knowledge lay heavy on my shoulders, and I needed solace, a refuge from the storm of emotions that threatened to consume me. I made my way to Adam’s house. The familiar path that I had driven so many times by now, seemed like an unfamiliar journey into the unknown right now. I just needed Adam, his presence, and the reassurance that only he could provide. God… I just needed to feel his arms around me and the sound of his voice telling me everything would be alright. As I arrived at the Miller house, I was greeted by Eluna who opened the door after I had rang the doorbell.“Hey. Adam’s isn’t back from Gran’s yet.” She told me as she op

Chapter 75
My gaze remained fixed on the men standing in the moonlit clearing, their expressions unreadable as Blade started to look around out of nowhere, his head yanking in all directions as he looked alarmed, as if somehow, he could sense me staring at them. I couldn’t tear my gaze away from the window that had given me this shocking view. My hands trembled as I was holding on to the mug, and my breath came in short, shallow gasps. It felt like I had stumbled into a world of secrets and mysteries that I could never have imagined. And just like that, it felt as if time slowed down around me. Adam’s eyes locked onto mine, and I saw the moment of realization dawn in his beautiful brown eyes. His expression was a mixture of surprise and pure panic, and he started to move toward the house, his steps quickening as they turned into running. I stood frozen, unable to tear my gaze away from the approaching figure of Adam. A whirlwind of emotions churned within me. F

Chapter 76
Adam’s P.O.V.As Jenna walked away from the house, each step that she took away from me felt like a heavy blow to my heart. The moon cast a cold, silvery glow on the path before her, and her figure grew smaller and smaller until she stepped into her car and disappeared into the night completely. And I fucking let her go...Because all that time, I had just stood there, rooted in place, the weight of her absence pressing down on me. The truth had torn us apart, and I couldn’t help but feel that I had let the love of my life slip through my fingers by keeping this secret from her. My one true mate. The one that my wolf needed, in order to survive. The pain of her departure was like a knife being pressed deep into my chest, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had lost her forever by her finding out the secret I had kept hidden from her, especially in the way that she had discovered the truth. My family

Chapter 77
“Eluna,” I sighed, reaching out to place a hand on her shoulder,“This isn’t your fault. You were just being a good host, and I appreciate that. But I was too reckless, too careless to show my wolf out in the open like I did. I should have been more careful, especially with the possibility of Jenna being around now. If it wouldn’t have happened tonight, it would have happened another night.” I spoke as she looked at me, her eyes welling up with tears.“I just don’t want to see you hurting, Adam. You love Jenna so much, and I can’t bear to see you suffer like this. For the first time since I can remember, you looked so happy. And I can't see you go downhill again.” She admitted as I offered her a reassuring smile, despite feeling dead on the inside.“I know you care about me, Eluna, and I appreciate that. But right now, I need to focus on finding a way to make Jenna understand why I did

Chapter 78
Adam’s P.O.V.It was a cloudy day, even for summer, casting eerie shadows across the empty road as I clenched the steering wheel of my old pickup truck. The events of last night replayed like a cruel nightmare in my mind, and I couldn’t escape the guilt that gnawed at my heart. Jenna, the love of my life, had discovered my secret, that I was a werewolf. The raw pain in her eyes as she had fled from my house was etched into my memory, and it was tearing me apart. Raindrops began to patter against the windshield, matching the drumbeat of my racing heart. I had spent the entire night in my room, forcing myself and my wolf not to run after her, my thoughts a whirlwind of confusion, self-loathing, and regret. But as the storm clouds gathered overhead this morning, I knew I couldn’t hide any longer. I needed to see Jenna, to explain myself to her, to beg for her forgiveness, or at least try to talk to her. With every mile

“Gorgeous?” I stammered, my voice trembling as I couldn't look away from the luggage as if it was a death sentence.  “What’s the suitcase for?”Jenna hesitated, her eyes downcast. “I… I need some distance, some time away to figure things out. I can’t stay here right now.” She said as her own voice cracked. NO! no, no, no, no!  My heart shattered into a million pieces. I had hoped for the chance to rebuild our relationship, but now it seemed like that chance was slipping away. “Are you… are you leaving me?” I asked, my voice barely audible.Jenna’s tears flowed freely now as she nodded. “I don’t know if we can ever go back to the way things were between us.” She said. “I need to find myself again, and you ne

Chapter 80
Jenna’s P.O.V.I sat on the edge of Jules' cozy couch, staring out of the rain-splattered window. It had been a full week since I had left Adam, and my heartache still clung to me like a relentless shadow. Despite my best efforts to try and move on, the weight of the past and the uncertainty of the future pressed down on me.  Jules bustled about the room like she always did, her vivacious energy a big contrast to my melancholy. She had been my best friend since we moved into the same dorm in college. She basically knew me better than anyone. Maybe that was why I had decided to come to her. She could tell when I was lost in thought, and she wasn’t the person who would allow me to wallow in sadness. Which is probably why she twirled around before plopping down beside me, her bright smile the only cheerfulness in the room.  “Girl, you’ve been moping around like a sad puppy for a week now,” she said
