Rebecca is dead
“No!!” Derek and Charlotte cried out. Rebecca gasped for breath as she began to lose consciousness. The vampire sank his fangs into her neck and sucked all of her blood within a minute. Slowly, Rebecca’s eyes closed, and Charlotte and Derek watched as her life drained away. Immediately, the vampire guard dropped her dead body, wiped his mouth in satisfaction, and began to gasp for breath before suddenly collapsing on the floor as well. Jessica smiled. “Her blood is poisonous to us, but yours, Charly? I will personally suck all your blood dry and watch you die a slow, painful death, Charlotte.” She roughly pulled Charlotte’s arm, making Charlotte completely at her mercy. “Please, don’t do this!” Charlotte cried in desperation “Jessica!” Derek said with a heavy heart. Jessica laughed wickedly, her eyes gleaming with malice. “Derek! You caused all this! I gave you my love, my attention. I forgave you even after you threw me into prison, yet you still love her.” Jessica said.

Anguished
Four days later, Charlotte awoke to the sound of a machine beeping in an unfamiliar room, her body throbbing with pain. "Arghhhh! Where am I?" she muttered, placing her hand on her forehead, attempting to piece together her shattered memory."You're in the hospital. Are you okay?" Derek answered. She looked at him and noticed a very sad and heavy look plastered on his face. He sat beside her and tucked the strand of hair on her face behind her ear, trying to fake a smile. “Are you okay?” he asked softly and affectionately.Charlotte looked at the sad expression on Derek’s face. The last time he had this sad expression was when she lost their first child. Fear gripped her because the look on Derek’s face was ten times sadder than what she had previously encountered. He was also filled with pain and hatred.“My child!” Charlotte exclaimed in fear.Derek gently touched her belly. “Our baby is okay!” He replied with a fake smile at the corner of his lips, planting kisses all over her neck

love
A gentle breeze swept through the cemetery as Charlotte and Derek stood at Rebecca's grave. The simple white headstone marked Rebecca's final resting place, making the moment even more tearful for her."Rebecca," she softly called, trying to fight back her tears. "I am so sorry." Her voice was full of pain and regret.Derek held her hand and squeezed some warmth into it. His face was sad, but he tried to act strong for Charlotte."I should have been a better person to you. I love you dearly, sister." She wiped her face, tears streaming down."Becca, I will forever miss you, sister." He pulled Charlotte gently into his arms as she sobbed, placing her head on his shoulder. "I will protect us, our family. The family you died fighting for, and I will get justice," Derek proclaimed. They stood in silence, hand in hand, as they stared at the graveyard. After a while, when the clouds were threatening to pour, they walked away and drove off.Derek drove to the front of Nathan's apartment. He

Lycan king
The night was clear, the sky filled with stars. Charlotte stood at the edge of the clearing, staring up. Right now, under this vast sky, she felt a bit of calm.Derek watched her from a few steps away, feeling something stir inside him. There was something about the way she stood there—strong yet somehow fragile—that made him want to get closer. He’d always admired her spirit, but tonight felt different, more intense. He stepped closer, the sound of leaves crunching under his feet catching her attention. She turned to him with a smile. For a moment, they just looked at each other, the silence between them was heavy with things unsaid."Beautiful night, isn't it?" Derek said softly.Charlotte nodded, smiling a little. "It is. It makes me feel small, like everything else doesn’t matter as much."Derek moved to stand beside her, their shoulders almost touching. "Small, maybe. But important," he said. "Every star has its place, just like us."She looked at him, surprised by his words. "I

The offer
“Go in and talk?” Charlotte asked. Her pleading eyes met Derek’s, and for a moment, the tension in the air seemed to hold its breath. Derek’s grip on her arm tightened slightly before he exhaled, his shoulders relaxing. He nodded reluctantly.“Alright,” Derek said, his voice softer now. “Let’s talk.”Nathan gestured toward the house. “Follow me. We’ll be more comfortable inside.”Nathan motioned for them to sit on the plush sofas circling the fireplace. Austin and James took their places by the door, protecting Nathan and showcasing his authority.Derek looked at Nathan expectantly. “Alright, Nathan. Explain yourself.”Nathan gently cleared his throat. “You see, this world is not only full of humans, as you well know with Jessica. There are enemies of nature, and there are friends of nature. I am Jessica’s nemesis; we are werewolves born into different packs. We look like humans, but we can transform. Our bites are poisonous to vampires.”“What...?” Derek’s voice was a mix of disbelie

Married
A tall man leaned against a tree, his fit body accentuated by the black-and-white striped designer clothes he wore. He didn’t smile, but the contours of his face were soft. The mole on his right ear was striking. Charlotte looked at him, dumbfounded. This emperor-like man should have been surrounded by an army of people. But for her, he was willing to stand alone in this quiet corner. She was carrying this man’s baby. He had accepted her faults and fulfilled all her wishes. “What’s wrong?” Derek asked gently, noticing Charlotte looked a little depressed. Charlotte shook her head without saying a word. The words "I love you" stuck in her throat. “Is it because you’re too tired from the gathering?” Derek looked her up and down. He noticed the cuts on her legs, and his pupils dilated in anger. “What happened?” Abigail was about to explain when Charlotte cut in, “Derek, let’s go home.” Derek glanced at Charlotte. It was obvious what had happened. Someone must have been reck

Isaac!
Isaac had been in the cell for what he guessed was up to a week, though it could have been longer. Without any windows, he couldn’t be sure of the time. No one had visited him except the guards, who merely dropped a plate of food through a hole and walked away, ignoring his questions. The sound of keys clanking drew his attention to the door. A man with a bundle of keys unlocked it. “Follow me,” he said in a dry tone, opening the door and walking away without a backward glance. Left with no choice, Isaac rose from the bed and followed him. He was momentarily blinded by the bright lights when they finally left the dark tunnels leading to the cells. The guard was a few paces ahead. “Keep up,” he said without turning around. Isaac hurried to catch up. They stopped in front of a black mahogany door, and the guard knocked twice. “Come in,” answered a deep voice from the other side. “Let yourself in,” the guard said, his last words before walking back the way they had come, leaving I

Come back to us!
The anger in Nathan’s eyes is replaced by a glimmer of acknowledgment. He knew Isaac was right; he had felt the growing unease, the sense of an impending threat that seemed to lurk aroundHe took a deep breath and finally spoke, “Fine. I’ll let you out. But understand this, Isaac—you’re not free. You will remain under my custody for the time being, and one wrong move will be your last.”Isaac looked at him in disbelief. “You can’t do that. I have to take care of my men. They are dying. I can't be locked up here, I am the head of rogues for all you understand. You don’t have to keep me on a leash for me to be loyal.”Nathan’s gaze was filled with disbelief and mockery. “Head rogue or not, you are still my little brother, and you will do as I say. Do you understand?”Nathan turned to the guard who had remained silently by the door. “Release him from the cell and set him up in the guest quarters." He looked at Isaac, "I’ll arrange for a meeting with the council We need to discuss our nex

Nathan's gaze
Nathan’s POV I stepped into the pack’s meeting side by side with Derek Miller and Charlotte, knowing this would cause a stir as they were neither wolves nor members of the council. “King Nathan! What is the meaning of this?” Elder Lucas demanded, as we barely made our way in, his eyes at the sight of the two outsiders. The people began to murmur at this sight! I raised a hand to silence the room. “As you well know, Derek Miller isn’t just any man. Having him on our side will serve a greater purpose for our plan, and Charlotte here... deserves to be here!” Charlotte looked at me in disbelief. She had not wanted to come along because she wasn’t a member of the pack, but I believe she should be. I have my reasons, but they can’t be made known to anyone. Elder Scott rose from his seat, with his tone sharp. “And why exactly does she deserve to be here, Nathan? We have strict protocols for a reason.” I took a deep breath, trying to remain calm, “Charlotte has unique insights a

New Beginning?
Nathan’s POV With the plan agreed upon, the meeting quickly wrapped up. The elders nodded in unison “We’ll proceed as discussed,” Elder Lucas declared. “Everyone knows their roles. Dismissed.” As the council members began to disperse, I approached Isaac, who was deep in conversation with Derek. “Isaac, make sure the defenses are in place. We can’t afford any mistakes.” Isaac nodded firmly. “Consider it done.” I turned to Charlotte, who was looking pale and anxious. “Charlotte, are you alright?” Before she could respond, she clutched her stomach and gasped. “Derek… I think the baby is coming.” My heart skipped a beat. Derek rushed over to her, “Now? Are you sure?” She nodded, wincing in pain. “Yes, now.” “Alright, let’s get you to the infirmary.” I helped her to her feet and turned to Austin, “Get the healers. Now.” Derek immediately supported Charlotte as I led the way to the pack’s infirmary which was a spacious and big building near the edge of our territory, and we made
