Chapter 47: Macey's secret

Kai's POV

I need to talk to her about Macey's secret and see if she can forgive Macey for keeping the truth from her. Raine explains, "I know that Macey was hiding something from me. But I can't bring myself to hate her or be distant with her. I feel like she's the sister I've always wanted." As I reach behind my back, I reveal the journal that Macey had given me.

"I need to tell you something. Macey wants to make amends for a sin she didn't commit. Her father was one of the hired killers paid by an evil person to kill your mother," I admit.

Her expression changes as she takes the notebook from me and reads about Macey's dad's confession. I wonder what decision she will make. I want to use this to test my wife's principles.

'I wonder if she'll hate Macey and punish her for her dad's sin. I hope she won't make things difficult for her while working with her.'
