As we walked out of the elevator into the lobby, we passed by the staff who stopped to greet him as usual, he merely nodded. We made our way to the car that was parked up front. “Please, can you stop the car?” I ask turning to him and putting my hands together in front of me in a prayer-like manner.“Are you crazy? We found a parking spot and I picked up the basket shutting the car door.“This is your great place? The crowded beach?” William asks.“Yup, and compared to the one in Miami, it’s not that crowded,” I state, walking with the basket in hand. A few people were on the beach, some playing while others were lying down enjoying the sunny serenity that the beach brought. I led us closer to the water before taking my seat on the dry sand. We spent a couple more hours at the beach talking about the most random stuff and I got to admit it felt nice seeing William like that, so carefree and relaxed. I was scared that Rome might end up being a forgotten memory by the time we got back, I was scared that William was going to go back to his usual way of ignoring me. I didn’t want the friendship we had now to be flushed down the drain. I just hope he doesn’t go back to being as mean as he was before we came here to Rome.We got back late at night, William had called for his driver to pick us up from the beach since he was a bit drunk and I was much worse. While yawning, I stretch my body and turn to look at the clock on the wall. It was still pretty early and I was surprised I was awake at this time since I got back late yesterday. I turned, sprawling myself comfortably, and rested my head on the pillow facing the empty side of the bed where William usually slept.As if on cue, William walked out of his closet dressed for work, looking sharp.
