22. Mine To Eat

He hasn't given up. Still.

I don't know what has come over Ayden. It's been over twenty-four hours since the fever broke yet he hasn't stopped fussing over me like I was some walking container of diseases.

Yesterday didn't end well because I had to force Ayden out of my room. He was adamant to stay and spend the night in my room– whether on the bed or on the floor.

Not to forget the many meals he prepared all through yesterday.

He made me breakfast yesterday which was a well-toasted French toast. I was shocked. And for lunch, he ordered pizza and he would have made dinner if I didn’t tell him I wanted to have an early night.

I thought sensing him out of my room last night would make him give up and understand that I was okay. I mean, he didn't even leave the house yesterday.

However, walking down the stairs this morning, my less active werewolf nose picked up the scent of fried eggs and bacon– burnt bacon
