Chapter 25 - Wesley

WESLEY'S POV

Early in the morning with the sun still resting I was called by the King and Queen to the meeting room. I was expecting this to be about the vampire's execution, or maybe the Deity's transformation, or even the hunt for the vampires but it wasn't.

"Are you still searching for your mate?" I shook my head before sighing. I stopped searching for her when things got busy because of the Deity. "You need to find her or else you cannot be King," my father uttered and I clenched my jaw.

"What if I don't want to be King?" I asked before raising my head and maintaining eye contact with them. My mother couldn't believe what she heard while my father stood up from his seat and slammed his hands on the table. "You are the next in line, you cannot deny your duties!" he shouted and I gulped.

"Wilbur can be the King," I suggested and he furrowed his eyebrows. "He hasn't found his mate," he uttered and I scoffed.
