Chapter 29 - Geneva

GENEVA'S POV

Everything was perfect, the wings were calling for me, and I was waiting for them. The moment was ruined when I felt a pair of hands wrap around my neck as the grip tightened. I swallowed hard, and the wings fell to the ground as guards dragged them away. "No!" I agonizingly screamed.

I felt weak, a mere mortal's strength was within me.

I looked to my side and saw the king holding me by my neck. "Get your hands off of her!" Wilbur screamed from behind as I heard chains wrap around his wrist.

The king smiled deviously as he uttered, "Break the glass window." The guards looked at him with hesitance before gulping. "NOW!" They bowed down before stepping forward. I looked up, staring at the massive glass window with the shade of red.

"Y-you…" I tried to speak but I was silenced by the pain around my neck. He smirked before laughing maniacally. "This is the deity you choose to follow?" He lifted me up and faced the people that were behind us.
