Chapter 5 - Geneva

GENEVA’S POV

I felt my breathing start to stiff as it gets harder and harder to breathe due to this man’s rip. I know he’s listening to my thoughts right now and fuck him, fuck you, fuck you- His grip suddenly got tighter. I help his arm tighter as well. Okay, maybe a bad idea to curse him out.

"Curse me?" he asked and I tried talking but couldn’t. Let me go you fucking asshole!

I took a deep breath as I started to lose consciousness. I was about to pass out but I felt energy consume me. I opened my eyes wide as I stared at the man. I moved my hand and grabbed him by the neck and his eyebrows furrowed. "Lady Nyla!" Thelia shouted as she finally gained consciousness.

I started squeezing the man’s neck before I threw him to the edge of the balcony. I fell to the floor as I started catching my breath. I have no idea what just happened but I was strong enough to push him away. I held my neck as my breathing started to be better. I looked at the man and saw him smiling at me. He was about to attack again but Thelia got in front of me and cast a spell.

A blue barrier surrounded us and once the man tried to attack, he flew back to the edge of the balcony again. I breathed heavily as I processed what was happening. Are we safe now?

"I can only do this for a certain amount of time," Thelia said and I cursed under my breath.

(I see some of your powers are back,) I heard the man whisper in my head and I closed my eyes, trying to block him off. I suddenly heard growling and a massive thing hit the floor of the room. I opened my eyes and saw the white wolf again. Wilbur!

He bit the man's arm and dragged her down the balcony. I almost screamed, knowing the drop was high. The protective barrier vanished and Thelia collapsed. Oh my god! I grabbed her body and held her up. I breathed heavily as I dragged her to the bed and laid her down. She passed out.

I sat down on the ground and started having a panic attack. I'm having difficulty breathing but I still ran to the balcony and when I looked down, the white wolf- or rather Wilbur in his werewolf form was alone and the vampire was gone. (See you again, Nyla,) I heard the vampire's voice inside my head before it vanished.

Wilbur looked up at me before sprinting to the main gate of the kingdom. I held onto the rail tightly before I took a deep breath and listened to the bell ringing. It has been continuously ringing since the attack and hasn't stopped.

I took a deep breath before running to the door but it suddenly opened. I covered my face, hoping not to die but I just felt a hand grab my arm before closing the door. I opened my eyes and saw Wesley. "They're taking care of the-" He looked at me and his eyes widened. His grip went loose and my arm fell to my side.

"W-what? Is something wrong?" I asked as I touched every part of my face.

He grabbed a mirror and handed it to me. My eyes widened when my left eye turned completely black. "W-what.." I stuttered to say anything. My right eye is completely normal with my hazel eyes, but my left eye… the whole thing is black and no sign of any color.

A moment later, it turned back to normal. I blinked a couple of times and touched my eyes. "What was that?!" I freaked out and looked at him but it seems like he doesn't have an answer to my question either.

Wait- enough of that! Thelia needs help.

"She cast a spell earlier and it drained her," I said as I ran to Thelia who's passed out in the bed. He followed behind me and checked for her pulse. "She'll be fine. She might be a sorcerer but casting spells such as the protective spell she casted drain her energy too much," he explained and I nodded.

I deeply sighed before nodding and relaxing my body.

"What is happening outside?"

"The vampires, Lady Nyla. This realm is not at peace. Kingdoms are at war and the vampires are trying to conquer the realm. The werewolves and vampires can't live with one another peacefully. It was what you were trying to do a thousand years ago," he explained and my lips parted but I nodded anyway.

This still feels like a horrible nightmare. I just keep getting beaten up left and right! Now I'm in the middle of wars in this realm, considered as a deity, yet I still have no idea what the fuck is going on. Now I appreciate being a college student that suffers in exams rather than suffers here and possibly die anytime.

"Lady Nyla?" I shook my head and looked at Wesley- or Prince Wesley. I don’t really care.

"I- I’m okay.." I murmured and he nodded. When I thought things were over, I heard a loud and fine sound and I looked around in confusion. My eyebrows furrowed when I couldn’t hear it anymore and every part of the kingdom was silent as the bottom of the ocean. There was no noise anymore and I sighed in relief. I turned to Wesley with a smile but I saw him kneeling on the floor and covering his ears. "What’s wrong?!" I shouted and he groaned.

"Back.. off.." he uttered but I couldn’t understand what he said properly.

"What?" I asked in confusion.

"Back off," he said a little louder and I blinked a couple of times before going to the other side of the room. "You might not hear it but there’s still a thin noise that we werewolves can hear," he struggled to explain before breathing heavily and putting his arm on the floor.

I didn’t know what he was about to do but my question was soon answered when he suddenly turned into a black wolf in contrast to his brother who’s a white wolf. This is fascinating. "Beautiful," I murmured and my lips parted. He looked at me with a serious expression like he’s struggling before running to the balcony and jumping off.

My eyes widened and I ran to the balcony and saw him sprint to the entrance as well. I sighed heavily as nervousness consumed my undeniably stressed and confused mind.

I'm beyond confused. How can I not hear what they can…?

I started thinking and the lightbulb in my head lit up. "That's right!" I exclaimed. Don't dogs and wolves have a great sense of hearing? Now that the werewolves here can transform, or half wolves, their hearing is far beyond what I can comprehend. Their sense of hearing is probably better than normal wolves as well due to how massive they are, even bigger than a human-like me.

I looked around the kingdom and when I looked outside in the forest, my vision suddenly increased. It was like a flash forward to the woods and my eyes were zoomed in like the lens of a camera. I can see the details of the trunks of the trees present, the individual leaves falling, and a man standing from afar.

The man who almost choked me to death.

He looked at me as I looked at him and he smiled. I blinked and the world around me went back to normal. I can no longer see that far away and I'm tripping balls over here. That was awesome yet terrifying. I shouldn't have the ability to do that!

Maybe I really am a Goddess in this world?

(An hour later…)

The brothers came back in their human form and entered the room where both me and the sorcerer are resting. Thelia is still passed out which I feel bad for due to her energy getting drained because of.. well, me.

She protected my life despite us not knowing each other. Or at least I have no clue as to who she was but her family's generations know a lot about me that I don't even know myself.

This is beyond what I expect for my destiny.

"Are you alright, Lady Nyla?" Wilbur asked and I looked at him and I nodded. I looked over at his arm and saw it was bleeding.

"Is everything at peace now?" The brothers nodded.

"The vampires used the sound to distract us and had the opportunity to get away. It's been almost two months since they last attacked. The news about you must've gotten out of the kingdom already," Wesley uttered before he and his brother looked at each other before back at me.

"The news will reach the King and Queen by dawn tomorrow…" Wilbur said and I looked left to right.

"What happens then?" I wondered.

"A warm welcome to you, perhaps? Or maybe a horrifying one. They'll either introduce you to the new customs of the kingdom…" Wilbur wandered with his words and looked at his brother.

"Or execute you," Wesley continued his brother's thoughts and my eyes widened.

"What?!" I screamed and stood up.

"Beheaded," he added and I held my neck with both my hands, already feeling the pain. "Y-you use guillotines here?!" I freaked out as I covered my neck, cringing about the thought of dying by the guillotine.

First of all, I think that's one of the worst ways to die.

Second of all, I don't want my head to be detached from my body when I die!

"Aren't I a God here? Why would they do such a thing?" I asked while breathing heavily, traumatized by the imagination of dying from getting beheaded.

"They think you'll be taking the throne from them if you ever come back. And that the kingdom will fall when it happens, Wesley explained and I held my head.

"Are both of you in on this shit too?! You're not planning to turn me in, are you?" The men chuckled as if it was a game before shaking their heads. Prince Wilbur cleared his throat before smirking and sitting down next to me.

"Lucky for you, Lady Nyla, we were raised by our grandparents and taught how you… are what this kingdom exactly needs," he explained.

We were interrupted by a grunt behind us and we saw that Thelia had woken. I jumped from my seat and walked towards her. Once I was near, she suddenly grabbed my shoulders. "Thelia!" I screamed. I noticed how her eyes were white as snow and my eyes widened in fear.
