CHAPTER 36: I'M FINE

Naya’s P.O.V

“Good day, sir,” I said to the doctor. I met him at his office.

“Good day. How are you feeling?” he said.

“Much better. Thanks for asking.”

“Alright. Do you need anything?” he inquired.

“Yes doctor. I do,” I said. The doctor’s focus was placed on me.

“Go on,” he said. “I’m all ears. Are you in pains? I could give you some painkillers.”

“No, doctor. It’s not that at all.”

“Then what? You know you don’t even have to be here. You should be having a bed rest. You don’t need any of this.”

“Doctor, I’m fine. Believe me when I say this.”

“Then what?”

“I need my discharge papers. I can’t stay in the hospital anymore. It’s not conducive for me.”

“But, you still need to heal. It’s not yet time for you to leave. We still need to watch you closely. You’re still in pains, obviously.”

“Please, just let me go,” I said. “I’m fine. Trust me. I need to spend time with my husband. I’ve missed him so much!”

“He’d understand that you need some rest.”

“It’s not about him. It was my decision.”
