CHAPTER 39: LEAVING MALDIVES

Everything was happening too fast. There was nothing in particular I could think about that was going on. But, we had to leave Maldives.

We really had to. It wasn’t safe. Naya and I got out from the room and moved down to the reception. The hotel was in chaos. Everyone was trying to run to safety.

But no one had the slightest idea of what was happening and the safest place they could run to. I called the chauffeur that had been driving me and Naya throughout our stay in the Maldives.

“Get into our room and bring our properties down,” I said to one of the porters in the hotel. He rushed to the room to get our things down. We felt more secured outside. Security was all over the place, trying to calm people down.

But, they knew better than to calm me down. I had made up my mind to leave the Maldives even if it was late at night, and nothing was going to stop me.
