Emily stayed frozen, shivering and unable to move an inch from where she stood.

For some minutes after Barbara left, no one uttered a single word.

“That was a scene, right?” Richard finally said as he lifted his head and chuckled calmly.

Emily was in extreme shock that she couldn’t utter a word.

She had thought that she was fired but suddenly, Barbara lost strength and couldn’t utter a word to counter what Richard had said.

It got her into a state of shock that five minutes wasn’t enough to recover from.

“I understand, come here”, Richard said with a smile, while Emily finally took in a deep breath and clumsily walked towards him.

Richard broke into a loud and hysterical laughter when he took note of the expression on her face.

Her eyes were squinted, and her lips were parted slightly as though some words laid inside of them.
