Chapter 47

Barbara hissed angrily when she heard the sound of her phone ringing for the hundredth time.

“Who is it?” Her lover asked grumpily, pulling her close to his chest and trying to plant a kiss on her lips.

“It’s Mike! It’s just so frustrating”, Barbara replied as she picked up the call and placed the phone on her ears.

“What the hell do you want, Mike?” Barbara asked angrily with a huge scowl on her face.

“Aren’t you coming?”

“Coming for what?” She asked impatiently, almost at the verge of ending the call.

“The banquet. It’s today, and you promised Richard that you would attend”, Mike said, not wanting to believe that she forgot about the event.

“Ohh! I would be on my way then”, Barbara said with obvious displeasure in her voice.

She already made plans for her outfit for the banquet. However, the date skipped her mind and she had totally forgotten that it was scheduled to hold by weekend.

“Why not stay and forget about that rubbish?” Her lover asked as he placed quick kisses on her bare
