I returned to the house around four in the afternoon to get ready for the dinner party. Davien had opted to stay a while longer, since he had an impromptu meeting with the board of directors who wanted to discuss a few things with him before the party. I’d gone straight to my room after arriving, showered for half an hour, and then emerged from the bathroom squeaky clean with my hair damp and smelling like vanilla. I was trying out a new shampoo, and let’s just say that I was loving the results so far. I don’t think my hair had ever felt this silky.

After blow drying my hair, I took a curling iron to create beach waves. I was thinking about dying my hair black for a change. I just wanted something different, I wanted to be a different version of myself. I guess I’ll find the time to do that in the weeks to come.
