**Emily’s POV**

The kiss only lasted a few seconds before he pulled away.

I frowned, staring up at him. "What's the matter?"

His expression was as unreadable as ever and he let out a grunt.

I felt embarrassed. I shouldn't have let him kiss me. He must be thinking I was cheap.

Maybe I was since I did everything I wouldn't do with anyone with him.

But then, he wasn't just anyone. He was my mate.

It was the reason I was giving myself to him aside from wanting him.

Nonetheless, I feel embarrassed.

“I don’t know why I’m about to help you avenge your people,” He said, frowning, “Maybe it’s because of our mate bond."
