Eerie Feelings

I was the first person to notice that Mia was drowning when I heard her high-pitched scream and saw Liv inside the water with her, a coy smile on her face.

“What the hell is going on there?” I asked, staring at the water.

“They're probably having another argument,” Javier answered, waving them off.

I shook my head, “This doesn't look like an argument to me.”

“Mia and Liv have been at each other’s throat for a while I'm sure it’s just another –”

Mia’s high-pitched scream interrupted Javier’s words again as I stood up, my eyes wide with fright.

“What the hell is happening?” Javier asked.

“Someone is drowning!” a voice screamed at the edge of the beach.

I took off my shirt and jumped onto the beach without thinking as I swam toward Mia. I could see the heavy waves trying to pull her under while she struggled to stay afloat.

“I'm coming, Mia!” I yelled toward her.

With powerful strokes I swam close to her and dragged her out of the water while Liv swam to safety, a hint of an
