Ariana's POVThe sound of something crashing resounded throughout the whole space in the carvenous library and all my senses were now turned toward the cause of the sound. I had already forgotten about going to call Alpha Derek as I took tentative steps toward the place, the sounds of my feet echoing throughout the whole space.I walked toward the sound in confidence, my steps never wavering with hesitation. I was certain that the scream I had heard belonged to Henry and I wanted to find him without wasting any time. If I went to call his brother instead of going directly to help him, who knew what fate he would be in by the time we came to find him. I couldn't leave him at the mercy of whatever thing that made to scream like that; I had to get to him as soon as he could.I traced my way toward the sound and as I began to get closer, I began to hear whimpers of pain and they were clearly coming from a human being and a grown up male for that matter. With my heart racing in panic, I co
Ariana's POVMy face fell as I thought about opening the door and finding nothing that I could use on Henry in there. I just stood there, looking at the door and wishing it would be what I wanted. After a while, I decided that just waiting and looking at the door wasn't going to solve any problem of mine; it would only compound it. I had to check what was inside the room before I even thought of the disappointment I would face. I just had to find out whether I would be disappointed or not before I could focus on the said disappointment. After then, I could now ask Henry whether he had any suggestion before we could proceed. With determination in my heart, I gripped the handle of the door firmly and twisted it, and to my surprise, it gave way. With my body quivering in excitement, I pushed the door open and I gasped loudly as it swung open.I closed my eyes as I walked into the room, noting the cool temperature and stood there for about a minute. When I finally got the courage to open
Ariana's POVSince Henry and I were already standing, we quickly rushed outside the bathroom and past the place where Henry had laid for a while. We went past numerous shelves on a rush, without even bothering to make sure our footsteps echoed less on the floor of the library. We just forged ahead, determined to see who had dared to enter into the Alpha's private library since everyone knew it was out of bounds except to a selected few. I had a good guess on the person who had slammed the door of the library but I wasn't sure yet so I didn't want to jump to conclusions. I wanted to see who the person was with my eyes before I would think of what to do after that.We went ahead -Henry and I- until we bursted out on a rush of nervous energy into the main aisle of the library. From there we were able to see a figure of a person and from the features I could manage to make out from here, I was certain that it was a man even though his back was to us.When we moved closer and I was able t
Ariana's POVI gulped and gulped as I took in the Alpha's incredulous question. Of course, he hadn't believed me. Why would he when my story was far fetched? I had to find a way to remedy the situation, though. I wasn't backing out. I had already told a lie so I had to continue along the lines of that lie."That was what happened, Master. He said there was no way he would carry me up to get the book down if he didn't hold my butt to keep me steady but I wasn't allowing that so I offered to carry him up to get the book instead. He didn't agree at first, claiming that he had to be the one to carry me since he was stronger and bigger but I didn't agree with him either, so after much deliberation, he finally agreed. I didn't really hold him well enough while I was carrying him so I slipped and he fell.""There is no need to ask again. I know without any doubt that both of you are foolish. Couldn't you have used the ladders provided in this library for that very purpose?"I heaved a silent
Ariana's POVI went back to my room after Alpha Derek ordered me to take my leave and I kept wondering what he would say to Henry and what Henry would say to him. I really hoped Henry corroborated with the story I told the Alpha, after all, he had been listening with rapt attention as I narrated everything to his brother.I was hoping that Henry would support my story and not say anything to alter what I had said because if he so much as said another thing different from what I had said, the Alpha was sure to doubt him and he would be in trouble. He had to stick to my story so that everything would be okay for him since what he had been doing when he crashed to the floor was likely not allowed. I knew that it wasn't.After a while of staying in my room, lounging on the couch and doing nothing in particular, I heard the door to the Alpha's quarters slam from next door and I knew that he was back from his office. I had already eaten dinner with the girls before I headed over to his offi
Ariana's POVMy mind reeled into instant shock as Alpha Derek asked me that question. Why was he still pursuing this line of question? What was the matter again? Had Henry told him something that had made him to doubt my own version of events? Or worse had Henry told him the main truth about the whole thing that had happened inside the library? Surely, he couldn't do that, or could he? Of course, he couldn't but if he did be was the one with much to lose here. He was the one who had tampered with something he shouldn't have tampered with. My own blame in the issue was that I had lied to the Alpha and covered up for him. But I knew Henry, I thought. And I knew that he couldn't tell the Alpha the truth because he would be at the receiving end. I didn't even know him that much but I knew him well enough to know that he couldn't tell Alpha Derek the main truth of the matter.I was lost deep into my thoughts that I didn't even realize that I hadn't answered Alpha Derek's question. I jolt
Ariana's POVMy jaw went slack after Claire's unexpected question and I blanched. What did she mean by that? That Henry and I were in a relationship? How was it possible? How did that come about? Henry and I were just friends. I barely even knew him and he barely knew me either. Before I could manage to say anything, Diana spoke before me."Have your seat, Ariana. You can't be standing like that," she said.I gulped and then I nodded before I took my seat at my rightful place on the table. Finally my jaw wasn't slack again and my mouth went back to its proper position before I finally found my voice. "What do you mean by that, Claire? I don't understand what you mean," I said without any hint of hostility in my voice. Claire and I were past that stage now.She fixed me with a piercing look before she spoke. "Don't you understand English? So you and Henry Callan, Diana's brother are in a relationship?"There was something in her voice now that I did not like. There was a type of coolne
Ariana's POVI looked at all of them around the table one by one until my eyes landed on the face of the last person. That was Diana and she was the one still holding my hand. My eyes trailed down her face to her chin and then to my hand in her hand. After a while of looking around like that, I spoke."So you are ready to tell me what I want to hear, right?" I asked and I wasn't just referring to Diana alone. I was referring to all of them. At this point, other people in the dining hall were looking toward our table and they were fixated on the scene going on before them especially since it involved Diana and her group of friends. They all looked at each other, a type of silent communication passing through them and they nodded to Diana one after the other. She nodded back to them and turned her gaze back to me before she nodded. "Yes," she said. "We are ready. We are ready to tell you about it.""Okay then," I replied. "Thank you."Since my hand was still in hers, she stood up, tur
