The car was completely silent, leaving Jennifer eagerly awaiting Raymond’s response. Yet, to her dismay, nothing reached her ears. She pressed her lips together, understanding his fury all too well. After all, why wouldn’t he be angry? He had married her, only to discover she had a mate.

With trepidation, she slowly turned to the right, glancing at Raymond. He stared back at her, his expression vacant, as though unaffected by the situation. However, his silence instilled a sense of fear within her. She swallowed hard, her heart pounding like a marathon, its thunderous beats seemingly audible even to him.

“Al-Alpha?” She called with a shaken tone.

“So he is your mate?” He finally let out. His chilly voice gave her goosebumps.

As she observed their proximity, she realized how rarely they had been this near each other, except for those two nights. Her gaze gently traced his face, lingering on his lips, which appeared soft and rugged. The memory of their touch still lingered on her lips.
