Jennifer’s eyes grew wide. “N-No. I didn’t mean that,” she stammered.

Raymond observed her expression, noting her bewildered look. He found it amusing. Wasn’t she the one who wanted to spend the night with him? So why was she suddenly acting innocent? He felt perplexed.

“Stop pretending,” he said, frustration lacing his words. “You’re sleeping outside. There’s no one here to witness our marital drama.”

Jennifer’s grip weakened as she processed the word “drama.” She averted her gaze from him and reluctantly nodded. “Okay, Alpha.”

She couldn’t defy his command. If he wanted it, she had to comply.

The day drifted by leisurely for Jennifer, who had hoped to create some cherished new memories. However, she now realized that she felt more at ease when surrounded by the company of others in the pack house. With Raymond ignoring her the whole day, she found herself with nothing to occupy her time. She idled in the living room or ventured outside to pass the time.
