Chapter 38: Plunge Into the Depths of the Cold Water

Joshua woke up to the voice of scream.

“What the-” Joshua was shaking his head to wake himself up. “What’s all the noise.”

“Help!” screamed someone.

Joshua got up quickly from the sofa. “Someone is in trouble,” said Joshua. He stood up and grabbed his jacket. He ran out the door. “Is it Emily?” he thought. He looked around to where the scream was coming from. “She’s so clumsy and careless at times. I hope she’s okay. I hope she’s fine. Oh god, I hope it’s not her,” he panicked.

“Someone help!” shouted the voice. The person was on a tube, drifting down the current of the lake.

Joshua narrowed his eyes at the person and saw that it was a woman.

“Emily?” he said. He wonder if it’s her.

“Josh-Joshua!” shouted Emily.

Joshua’s ear perked as he heard her voice. He made a dash to the water.

“Joshua!” exclaimed Megan, coming out of the car.
