Chapter 35:

RYAN

I walked into the living room to see my Aunt Caroline, and her date from last night on the lounge they watched me walk in quietly.

I paused at the entrance for a couple of minutes as I waved at both of them with a forced smile creased on my face.

My Aunt had her brows arched with her arms crossed over her chest. I could tell she was a bit upset that I had left her kids with her not-so-friendly neighbor.

But still, I just couldn't turn down Sarah’s offer of going over to her apartment for the night for some fun.

“And where the hell were you, young Ryan” She asked.

I smiled knowing bailing on her kids wasn't the best option, and even worse not having her informed made it all look so bad.

“I messed up, I'm sorry,” I said trying hard not to smile at her.

She stayed silent afterward staring at me for a couple of minutes without a word, probably trying to bottle up all of her emotions. Surprisingly she smiled afterward as she opened her mouth to respond.
