“The funny man that kept calling earlier” She responded.

I gulped nervously staring, wondering how possible it was that she had heard.

“You…” I stuttered as I placed my burger down staring at her.

“You heard?!” I asked.

It sort of felt weird as I sat there watching her munch on her meal, acting like she had said nothing out of the blue.

The muscles in my stomach clenched and I got up to my feet walking towards where she sat by the couch in my office.
