Chapter 40: The Sorceress

The rogue wolf tore through the forest, eyes filled with darkness, darting around to make sure it was not being followed.

Diana was thrown over its shoulders, one furry arm tightly wrapped around her frame.

"Let me go!" She screamed, trying to wrench her arms free so she could defend herself.

"Be quiet." The wolf snarled at her. "If you don't want to be killed, do as I say."

"HELP! HELP ME!" Diana screamed, despite the threat she just received from the wolf.

"You leave me no choice." The wolf growled and skidded to a stop. Before Diana could open her mouth to scream again, she was thrown on the ground.

She groaned as her body hit the earth painfully. The wolf towered over her and she slid backwards until her back was against a tree.

"Who are you? What do you want from me?"

Before the wolf could take another step towards her, a large brown wolf slammed into it, knocking it away.

Diana's eyes flew upwards and she almost cried from relief when she saw the three identical wolves.
