Riverdale Ball (1)

Aelton, 1895.

“Why are we here?“ asked Lucas, glancing at the fiancee as he strode his right arm.

“I’ve prepared something for us,“ replied her beloved, a twenty-year-old young woman named Rosetta.

The tanned eyes of the eldest daughter of the Marquess Grasswall look upon her fiance with love. For her, that man with a firm jaw and a pointy nose was the only one in the world.

Lucas gave a slight smile in response to the beloved’s words, deciding not to ask again. The two of them walked to a place in the middle of the backyard of Coldina Castle.

After walking for about five minutes, the couple arrived in a glasshouse. At the corner of the park, it planted a whole range of plants that were not in the park. A special place belonging to Lucas's late mother, Irma.

“You prepared all this?” asked Lucas. His black eyes rolled around the edge of a glass house covered with Hydrangea flowers. It doesn’t blossom because it’s summer, but it will.

“No,” Rosetta answered calmly, shutting her eyes on the road to the middle of the greenhouse.

There a celadon table with a pair of chairs. On the table, a set of tea and snacks is as sweet as the fragrance of flowers available. Waiting to be enjoyed.

“We can get the tea inside, Rosetta,” says Lucas, sitting on one of the chairs after his fiance seated first.

Rosetta shook slowly, smiling sweetly with her red lips. “It’s too crowded there, Lucas. We can’t get any privacy except here.”

 “Okay.“ Lucas answered.

Rosetta turned to the side, gesturing to one of the servants who was waiting nearby. Understood, the waiter stepped forward to pour Earl Grey’s Tea on each cup.

“Thank you,” Rosetta says, and then look back at her beloved, “Hope you don’t mind if we have a cup of tea together here.”

“Why should I reject?“ Lucas holds up his cup. “We always drink tea together.”

“Well, this time is different, you know,” Rosetta retorted with a pretense of sulking, but she soon regained a smile.

That red-haired woman was waving at one of the waiting attendants at the entrance to the greenhouse.

“Please bring it here,” Rosetta said.

After that, two servants cautiously stepped forward. Together they took a long wooden box and placed it in front of Lucas. There were intricate carvings on the surface of the box, but Lucas could tell what was inside.

Without needing her consent, Lucas opened the lid of the box. His eyes gleamed when they met a long iron that was forged so strong that even in the light of wax, it was known just how sharp the blade was.

Lucas picked it up for a closer look. Felt the grip on the black hilt of the sword. However, there were some unread spells. On the tip of the handle before the blade, there is a large yellow jewel.

 “What’s this for?“ asked Lucas.

“Congratulations on the success of the Duke Riverdale family. It’s called an Archangel, my gift to you.”

Rosetta smiled sweetly. It’s nice to see Lucas lugging away for his gift. Though her fiancee was expressionless, Rosetta could see the sheen of interest in his black eyes.

“Thank you, Rosetta,” replied Lucas, then put the Archangel Sword back on the box, and closed it.

That six-foot man stood up, walked up to Rosetta, and laid down his hands.

“Then, will you dance with me?“ offer Lucas. The faint smile on his lips did not diminish, which made Rosetta unhesitant to answer that hands.

 “Yes, my Lord.”

Rosetta’s fingers in Lucas's hands feel so warm. It’s even warmer than the air of the fireplace. That woman’s heart pounded as the lover led her out of the greenhouse to the center of the park that had a circular section.

Lucas laid his left hand on Rosetta’s waist, grasping her hand. Incidentally, there was faint music from the castle hall some 50 feet from the park.

“I thought we’d dance without the song,” Rosetta clink with a giggle.

Following classical music, the couple began to dance. Rosetta’s been spinning a few times. The red dress with the license of a carousel she wore crumbled as she moved. Until then her body was back in Lucas’s arms.

The two of them are kind of blending into the rhythm of the music. Fill each other’s spaces, move in accordance but also elegant, without making a single mistake like stepping on a pair’s foot.

“Lucas,” Rosetta whispered. Now the dance moves are quieter than before.

Rosetta’s hands clasped her beloved’s neck, feeling the warm breath of Lucas so close to her ear. One Lucas hand clasped Rosetta’s thin waist, while the other gently rubbed the soft, as white as that porcelain.

“Rosetta,” Lucas retorted with his electrifying voice.

There are dozens of women who could fall through the sound of the blond man. As the next Duke Riverdale, Lucas’s whereabouts are quite intense or conspicuous.

So it was a great honor for Rosetta to stand beside Lucasasa a future fiancee and wife. Instead of continuing the title of the father and becoming a Marchioness, Rosetta chose to be Lucas's wife.

“I love you, My Lord. Ups, no. I love you, Lucas,“ mutters Rosetta as Lucas’s face comes closer.

They looked at each other. Drowning in each other’s equally beautiful beady eyes. Clear black and clear brown, like a precious jewel in the South Mountain.

Lucas did not immediately answer. Instead, he busied with his fiance’s pretty face. With the almond eyes, a peacock’s eyelid, a wispy straight eyebrow, and red-eyed, sensuous lips, Rosetta are one of the women who are also the focal point of the high society.

“I love you too, Rosetta,“ replied Lucas.

The two man’s feet stopped. Whether Riverdale’s air was always cool surrounded by icy mountains or because the overwhelming feeling of love made both Rosetta and Lucas yearn for warmth.

Without hesitation, the two of them began to stick to their lips. Feel the softness and warmth it brings. Along with an uncontrollable heartbeat, the brief kisses grew hotter. Yearn for each other’s presence.

“Ah, Lucas,” Rosetta muttered as Lucas’s breath tickled the surface of her neck. But it did not diminish the kiss that the man had given her. Once in a while, the Rosetta bark was very sweet.

Then the two again joined lips. In the cold summer months of Riverdale, the two lovers couldn’t stay away.

Rosetta smiles between a peck and an ardent desire. In this world, she would think of nothing more than being all Lucas’s wife.
