46. Kenan's Declaration

Andien's eyes flashed sharply as she approached the waitress she had just seen.

"Who are you and who told you to work here?" Andien asked inquisitively.

"I... I work here under the orders of Mr Kenan," the servant replied with her head bowed.

"Kenan? What right has Kenan to make you work here? What is your name?"

"My name is Lastri. I started working here two months ago."

"Where is the old waitress?" Andien asked urgently.

Lastri shook her head. "There was no one here when I arrived. Mr Kenan said I'd only be in charge of cleaning until Madame Andien returns."

Strange. Andien knew the servant who worked for her parents very well, and the servant had even waited for her when there had been no news of her departure.

"Has anyone else ever come to this house?" Andien asked curiously.

Lastri nodded, drawing Andien's attention. "During the time I worked here, there were several people who came to ask for Mrs Anjani. As per Mr Kenan's orders, I can only answer that I don't know," Lastri repl
