Chapter Twenty-Seven

The blue of his eyes clashed with my brown ones as we were suddenly thrown into a starring competition.

I couldn't help the shudder that passed through me as I stared into those blue eyes that looked like they were about to devour me.

Our breaths were almost loud enough for everyone in the diner to hear.

I could hear my heart beating in my ear, my chest heaving. I don't know if it was because of how close he was to me- he was so close that one more tiny movement from the both of us was going to make our lips collide or because his words were still playing in my head or I was probably scared of what was to come...

Yes, that was it. It had nothing to do with anything else.

The air was tensed initially but it became even more tense when I saw him bringing his hand to my lips.

He rubbed my lower lip, causing it to move slightly to the side.

My lips parted instinctively and I closed my eyes for a moment before opening my eyes slightly and stared at him with hooded eyes.
