Freya was at the reception when Leila walked in. She watched her friend describe her and Kelvin to the nurse for a short while before rushing to engulf her in a hug.
“Leila.” Freya hugged her back. “I’m so sorry.”
“For what?” Leila asked. Freya had told her about the impromptu work trip. Her absence had hurt but life didn’t revolve around only her. Leila’s eyes were dry as the Sahara as she stared into her best friend’s teary ones. She would not cry again. Her mother was alive, that was more than most people would get. She nudged her best friend with her shoulder and wiggled her brows. “How’s Darren? You look beautiful, Freya.”
“You look better.” They both laughed. Sliding her hand into Freya’s elbow, she guided her towards the hallway. “Darren is fine. Since the app got back on playstore, he has been busy with new updates and fixing some bugs.
