Chapter 24

Josephine did not bother to look in the direction of where Maya and Brian stood and instead, her eyes were on Lucas. She does not need anyone to tell her that there was lust in Maya’s eyes and Brian is probably eating his heart out.

“There is something I forgot to tell you. You look incredibly beautiful,” Lucas said and Josephine blushed at his words before he pulled her face closer and gave her a kiss on the forehead.

He tossed the key to the valet and they left after telling the man their suite number and to put their bags in their suite. Josephine felt Lucas pull her closer to him and they started walking towards the hotel. Josephine could feel people’s eyes on them, some of who were just arriving as them but she did not spare any of them a glance. She held her head high and one would not know that she was the same person who got her heart jilted.

When they entered the hotel, after passing Brian and Maya with some of their bridesmaid, Josephine heard Lucas ask, “Is that your ex?”
