Chapter 30

Lucas looked at Josephine who seems to be thinking about where they had met before apart from the bar but when she parted her lips to speak, she asked him, “Have we?”

“I asked you first,” Lucas said.

“You are a vampire. If we have met before, you should remember that,” Josephine said and quirked her lips up.

“Unfortunately, I don’t,” he said and let go of her hand. To Lucas, Josephine held a familiar similarity with someone he came across with when he was still young, but he could not place his hands on it. There was only one way to find out, but somehow, he was not ready to know, at least not yet, because he feared that it might be what he thinks it is.

“You sounded like you were so sure back at the wedding. Well, thanks for pulling it off with me. Everyone believed you. Even I almost believed,” Josephine said and gave a little laugh and as if suddenly remembering something, she asked, “Do you feel bloodthirsty?”
