Chapter 31

Josephine bit her lower lip and squint her eyes as she tried not to make any sound or move her body. She has been awake for a while now but she didn’t attempt to get up because Lucas was still in bed with her and he was wide awake. She wondered what he was still doing, lying down. She expected him to have left the bed and maybe go outside. She thought of different things he should have done but instead, he chose to lie down with his eyes wide open.

Josephine didn’t know the first thing to say to him. She deliberated if she should wish him a good morning or just look at him with surprise and say ‘Oh, you’re up?’ A sigh escaped from her lips and at the same time, she felt the strands of hair at the back of her neck pull.

“You can get up now,” Lucas deep voice said and she knew he already caught her.
