Chapter 28

Josephine went to get a drink for herself and she drank from the wine glass, savoring the feeling. When she turned to head back, she bumped into someone and the content in the glass almost spilled but she was careful enough not to let a drop escape. Josephine saw Brian standing in front of her and he also has a drink for himself.

He smiled at her and said, “Josephine, I’m glad you made it.”

‘As if,’ Josephine said in her mind and smiled back at him. “Of course, I am glad I made it too. I couldn’t turn down your invitation,” she said to him and she could hear the irony in what she said. She could see that Brian was checking her out and a satisfying smile appeared on her lips.
