Lucas didn’t bother looking at the maid who was blushing at the corner and he took the glass in his hand before drowning the whole content in his mouth. Dropping the glass back, he asked Patton, “What do you want from me?”

“I see that you are not that patient. Well,” he began, “I have a deal for you. A deal that is going to benefit the both of us. All I need is for you to do the work and you will have my full support and protection.”

Lucas twisted his lips and asked, “Protection? Or burden?”

“Lucas, this deal is going to benefit you more. You need to look on the positive side of it,” Patton said and leaned forward where he said in a low voice, “Remember I know what you are. What will you do if other people find out?”

Lucas didn’t feel threatened and instead, he scoffed through his nose. Leaning forward, he said, “You still haven’t told me what this is about.”
