Chapter 52

Mrs. Lewis noticed that Josephine’s head was still down and she called her out of her thoughts, “Josephine?”

Josephine raised her head up and looked at her before she responded, “Yes, mo-” The word got stuck in her throat and she gulped before she continued, “Mother?”

Mrs. Lewis didn’t comment on that and instead, she went ahead to ask her, “Can you tell me everything that happened from the day you found out that my daughter was sleeping with your ex-fiancé?”

Josephine straightened her back and blew air in her mouth before releasing it. Her eyes moved in the direction of where Maya and Brian sat and she guessed that since it has to be this way, there was no point in hiding the dirty things he did.

Moving her eyes back to look at Mrs. Lewis, she started, “It was that night we decided to hold a little party to celebrate the upcoming wedding.” She took in a sigh and continued, “The party was going well and I went upstairs to get something and that was when I saw them together. I didn’t w
