Chapter 47

Celestine's POV

Just how hard can it be? I just have to convince my mom to let me spend the last two weeks of my summer holiday with Lorenzo. No biggie. How hard can that be?

I head downstairs and into the kitchen to see my mom making breakfast. Standing at the entrance for a minute, I go over my plan again in my head then I walk over to her, leaning on the cabinet beside her. "Good morning, Mom."

"Good morning. Hope you slept well." She smiles brightly at me and then goes back to flipping the pancake on the stove.

"I did. How about you?" I lightly push her aside, nudging her with my shoulder and taking over the frying of the pancakes.

"I did. Thank you," she mutters, untying her apron and dropping it on the counter.

"So mom," I start, placing the last pancakes onto the pile of already fried ones and turn off the stove. "I and Eve with some group of friends were planning to go on a road trip before the summer is over. You know, get a little bit of fun in before the workload starts."
