I stared at the massive beast in front of me. I knew it was Alvis right away. My senses couldn't avoid the sense of my own mate, but he was...different than the Alvis I knew.

He was a much larger wolf, monstrous. He had thicker and longer fur than his normal wolf, as well as sharper teeth and claws. His eyes glowed a sickly yellow instead of Alvis's wolf's eyes which were clear blue like the ocean.

What was going on?

"A...Alvis? Is that you?" I said weakly.

The Lycan turned his head and glared at me. I felt a shiver down my spine. He looked evil, not like the Alvis I grew up with.

"So, you decided to use an ancient curse to use against me? How cute," Kai mocked.

I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. I was in bed, but I stood back on the floor and tried to back away slowly.
