CHAPTER 30

RUBY’S POV

Sally finally left for school after I was able to stop her from talking about Dax liking me but Dax still had a smile on his face even after she was gone. I could tell he was thinking about what Sally said and I hoped he wouldn't question me about it.

Breakfast was finally ready and we all sat at the dining table to eat in silence but I could still sense the chemistry flowing between Clarissa and Simon whenever they spoke, made eye contact, or mistakenly brushed hands when they reached for something on the table.

So I used them as a means of distraction to ignore Dax who was right beside me because I knew that once this breakfast was over, we were going to talk about the unavoidable and we were either going to find a solution or end up fighting.

I had a feeling that we would most likely end up fighting considering the question I had in mind for Dax but who knew? Maybe he wouldn’t fight with me as I expected. We finished eating and I packed the dirty dishes along
