3RD POV

Clarissa and Simon sat in silence in the living room while they listened to Ruby and Dax go at each other, their voices and their temper evident in the tone they used to speak to each other.

Simon stirred in his chair while Clarissa sighed as she typed away on the laptop she placed on her thighs and she looked up to glance at Simon just at the same time he did.

They quickly looked away from each other before she chuckled to herself and looked back at him.

“This is awkward” she commented and he nodded in agreement. It was weird enough having to listen to Ruby and Dax argue but sitting in silence was unbearable. He had to strike up a conversation.

“So what are you up to? I noticed you've been typing away with top concentration so it must be something serious” he asked curiously and he watched her smile while she shrugged.
